<wens> robmur01: the simple dts and dwc3-of-simple are enough to get the RTL8153 on the NanoPi R2S working
<wens> robmur01: however it does not have a MAC address burnt in
<wens> and given the non-secure efuses are empty on the rk3328, there's nothing for U-boot to use to generate a stable MAC address either
<wens> I tried looking into how to get the rtl8153 to at least have a DT node coupled to it, but haven't got far yet

<tuxd3v> hello guys any one knows when nanoPi R2S will get mainline kernel support?
<tuxd3v> I have a very messy patch for the kernel but still with lots of references duplicated in several places..
<tuxd3v> also I had tried the armbian image too
jelly has quit [Quit: ""]
<tuxd3v> and something tells me that there are some strange things with the nanoPi R2S DT..
<tuxd3v> the board without any load, achieves 65C
<tuxd3v> I Imagine when its hot weather or with it at full load..
<tuxd3v> better to get a fire extinguisher..

<tuxd3v> does any one here have a rk3328 SoC, what are your temps?
<tuxd3v> one think that maybe can explain the hot situation could be the voltages for DVFS
<tuxd3v> maybe, just saying, tomorrow will take a look at them..

<robmur01> tuxd3v: my little 3328 TV box idles around 50C. I think the people comparing temps to Rock64 etc. boards have failed to notice just how much less surface area R2S has to lose heat through the board. And that the USB3 ethernet chip right next to the SoC is hardly a cooling device either ;)
<tuxd3v> robmur01, yeah, it could be indeed :)

<wens> robogoat: the EEPROM isn't there on my board :|
<tuxd3v> wens, if its nanoPi R2S, it has the pads support for it, but my board also doesn't have the EEPROM
<tuxd3v> only the circuitry for it..

<tuxd3v> on nPi R2S using uboot script scr..
<tuxd3v> how does we choose to boot?
<tuxd3v> I am using to select the sdcard:
<tuxd3v> setenv devnum 0
<tuxd3v> but I don't know if device 0 is mmc for nanopi r2s
<tuxd3v> :/
<tuxd3v> the booting scheme for the rk3328 is the same as for rk3399 ?
<tuxd3v> same 3 sections on same sectors?
<tuxd3v> thanks in advance
<tuxd3v> anybody can help with this:

<stikonas> Card did not respond to voltage select! is quite general error that might mean anything...
<stikonas> I've even seen this error with hardware errors
<stikonas> in your case it's probably not a hardware error though

<hmuller> tuxd3v: does your device have eMMC and/or a switch that enables it?
<hmuller> I received a similar error when trying to boot from uSD card, with eMMC disabled and removed
<hmuller> once I reinstalled eMMC and enabled it, I was able to boot from uSD card
