robmur01, is possible to have pcieport as module? or must be compiled in?
<indy>
if so, i'm fine to have hacks in dkms/out-of-tree modules for testing :)
<indy>
it looks like, just debian has them as builtin
<indy>
but having working instructions for getting jtag on rk3399 would be nice
<indy>
compared to rk3308 jtag is disabled by default
<indy>
at least it looks like, based on rk3399 trm
<robmur01>
looks like pcieport is part of the PCI core, so can't be modular
<robmur01>
besides, those kind of hacks need to go deep into the low-level arm64 exception code, so I don't see that it would help much anyway
<robmur01>
I guess JTAG might need things poking from U-Boot SPL, and there might be clocks that Linux needs to be aware of (at least to the degree of not turning them off)

robmur01, but PCIE_ROCKCHIP_HOST can be module
<robmur01>
I'm not sure what you're getting at - the hardware is still broken and any attempts to work around it require poking deep into core arch code; no amount of PCI driver fiddling can change that
