<libv> nieuwbie: what hardware is this?
paulk-collins has quit [Quit: Ex-Chat]
<libv> nieuwbie: what kernel are you running, how did you connect serial?
<nieuwbie> ok it's a polaroid tablet
<nieuwbie> board UBet_3F
<libv> that definitely does not ring a bell.
<libv> http://linux-sunxi.org/New_Device_howto#.22I_don.27t_care_about_any_of_this.2C_make_my_device_work..22
<nieuwbie> its already there
<nieuwbie> not in the repo though
<nieuwbie> DRAM: 1024 MiB
<libv> ubet being inet :)
<nieuwbie> CPU 1008000000Hz AXI/AHB/APB 3/2/2/
<libv> that's a really poor page
<nieuwbie> I know. ^^ Made it myself. :D
<libv> not according to the history
<libv> i seem to have done the most of the work on that one.
<nieuwbie> ok. so i will take the credit for the picture of the board then. ^^
<libv> work it.
<libv> nieuwbie: as for uart, what are you setting it at on both sides?
<nieuwbie> What do you mean?
<nieuwbie> ok I soldered wire pins to the pads like on the picture
<nieuwbie> conected it acccccording to the spec
<nieuwbie> GND - GND / RXD - TXD / TXD - RXD
<nieuwbie> Using CP2101 chip
<nieuwbie> using screen with 115200
<nieuwbie> everything seems fine but I have no command echo
<nieuwbie> cant use any editor
<nieuwbie> can't also use usb keyboard cause my tablet doesn't recognise my usb keyboard
<libv> it's an a10, so otg works
<libv> unlike a20
<libv> you should be able to use a usb keyboard on sunxi
<libv> nieuwbie: are you booting the kernel with console=...115200 as well?

<itsmorefun> hi, there is a problem with the wiki http://linux-sunxi.org, i can't validate account: Mailer returned: Unknown error in PHP's mail() function.
<libv> hrm
<libv> itsmorefun: seems that your account was created though
<libv> nieuwbie: iirc, default uboot setting is to try both ext2 and fat
<nieuwbie> Turl: what do you mean doomed to fail?
<itsmorefun> without validate, can't write or edit anything
<libv> hrm, i see no option from my end
<libv> Turl: ?
<libv> we both have the same permissions, so perhaps reaching deep into the wiki
<libv> or do we just delete and let itsmorefun try again
kuldeepdhaka has joined #linux-sunxi
<libv> nieuwbie: the default setting is to try both fat and ext2
<libv> one of the two will fail
<nieuwbie> but how is that possible?
<nieuwbie> If I get this it checks for fat and then for ext2
<itsmorefun> if i go to Preferences then Change email address same problem, i think the problem is the php mail function, not my account
<nieuwbie> so if I have ext2 why it can't find it?
<libv> include/configs/sunxi-common.h in u-boot
<Turl> itsmorefun: let me have a look

<itsmorefun> login ok i just logout and login its ok but mail validation is KO
<nieuwbie> seriously I don't get any of this
<libv> itsmorefun: that's something Turl and/or mnemoc get to deal with :)
<libv> itsmorefun: so you are able to edit?
<Turl> itsmorefun: wiki says you're autoconfirmed already, you should be able to edit
<libv> ah, you just set him to people

<itsmorefun> i have tried 2 valid mail...
<libv> does this work?
<libv> ok, so you have tried that
<itsmorefun> Again "Error sending mail: Unknown error in PHP's mail() function."
<libv> Turl: do you have access to the wiki logs?

<ssvb> BorgCuba: who has instructed you to do this? And for what purpose?
dragonn has joined #linux-sunxi
<BorgCuba> well, I want to load g_ether when the udc is up
<BorgCuba> I found this line on the mailing list
<ssvb> BorgCuba: maybe asking for further instructions in that mailing list would be a good idea
<BorgCuba> I am using mdev but I think actually I dont really use it but only a bash script
<BorgCuba> ssvb, do you know is the udc says something when it is ready
<BorgCuba> ?
<BorgCuba> is there something I can grep for?
<BorgCuba> I added a script that prints some environment variables but only $SUBSYSTEM and $ACTION are non empty
<ssvb> you can usually grep in the dmesg log, but enabling verbose usb debugging messages in the kernel is likely to make it more useful
<BorgCuba> everything verbose here, I can see that the udc is up
<BorgCuba> but when I modprobe g_ether from my init script it usually fails
<BorgCuba> I guess this is because the udc is not ready
<ssvb> environment variables? are these not udev rules?
<BorgCuba> when I try it manually later it just works
<BorgCuba> no, I am using mdev or better a script
leviathanch2 has quit [Remote host closed the connection]
<BorgCuba> mdev.conf looks like this: .* 0:0 644 @/lib/mdev/init
<BorgCuba> and /lib/mdev/init is just a script
<ssvb> I'm not familiar with mdev
<BorgCuba> same for me
<BorgCuba> but I think this setup is about the same as doing "echo "/lib/mdev/init" > ???/hoplug"

<Marcos__> Hi, Can I use a simple USB 3G dongle on a Cubieboard2? Have anyone tested it ? I am asking this because those Axx processors seems to need extra GPIOs to make it work (http://linux-sunxi.org/Fex_Guide#3G_configuration) and I never heard about a 3G dongle that needs other pins, just USB.
<WarheadsSE> Why would a 3G dongle over USB need "extra pins?
deasy has joined #linux-sunxi
<Marcos__> If you read the page I posted before it says about a UART, "power enable", a "wakeup" and a "interrupt" GPIO. I don't know what it means. I actually never heard about a 3G dongle with that. They have just a USB plug and nothing more.
<bfree> that stuff is for devices with internal 3g, not for a "normal" usb dongle
