<mripard> wens: nah, there were some merging issues
<mripard> I have a few patches left to send
<mripard> wens: still talking about your clock patches. Where are the other patches for the DMA?
<mripard> cause now, it's completely broken since the patch to remove the clock_set_parent has been merged by vinod apparently
<wens> mripard: you mean the ahb1 unifying patches?
<wens> i haven't gotten around to looking for a good solution for limiting clock rates
<mripard> we don't care about limiting clock rates...
<wens> but seeing that on sun6i we only need to reparent, i can just remove the clock rate part and resend it
<mripard> yes, please
<mripard> it's currently broken for 3.18
<wens> can i send you a dt fix for that breakage? i think the whole series is too big for rc
<mripard> then we'll revert the commit
<wens> either way works i guess :(
gzamboni has quit [Read error: Connection reset by peer]
<wens> the whole series is 200+ LoC
<wens> a quick fix for 3.18 is 3 lines added to the DT
<wens> my board is at home so i cannot test it now
<mripard> wens: I don't follow you, isn't that the right solution ?
<mripard> why do you need more commits than this one?
gzamboni has joined #linux-sunxi
<wens> mripard: the 'original' ahb1 unifying patches which the dma driver patch was a part of is 7 patches total
<wens> what i just posted is a fix for 3.18, which is not part of the series i had
<mripard> wens: I don't care about the ahb1 unifying patches at this point. I care about the broken DMA.
<wens> OK, so this patch fixes the broken DMA.
FR^2 has joined #linux-sunxi
<hno> wens, is your ahb1 unifying and the proposed dt change mutually exclusive?
<wens> hno: the series has a similar patch
<hno> ok.

<hramrach_> mripard: the note about u-boot was mainly to increase linking to mainline u-boot page which is hard to find. mainline kernel effort page would be one place where linking makes sense
<mripard> it is the first link on the page....
<vitorcarvalhoml> rella, do you already has used some PVR on XBMC with allwineer socs? I'm using your git repository to try but pvr fails on compile despite XBMC is working fine. The error can be seen at https://gist.github.com/vitorcarvalhoml/be5cb66e63a40b436f07

<rellla> victorcarvalhoml: i haven't worked with this repo for more than a year and iirc the pvr submodules are messed up a bit.
<rellla> your snippet is too short to be able to help you.
<rellla> the last time i tried it, it worked basically with vdr as a backend and vnsi addon as the frontend. i never dealt with tvheadend.

<rellla> don't know anything about tvheadend. ask google or #xbmc
<rellla> ah. and don't use the xbmc-pvr-addons repo as a standalone. don't know if this works. build them as a submodule.
<wens> great, i have 2 conflicting branches again
<vitorcarvalhoml> yeah! pvr-addons it's a submodule into your repo
_massi has joined #linux-sunxi
<vitorcarvalhoml> I use the xbmc-pvr-addons as standalone. the error I put in gist.
<vitorcarvalhoml> it's possible to compile xbmc and include the pvr-addons at "compile time"?

<hno> buZz, it can be both managed and unmanaged. No idea how it's wired on the Banana-Pi.
<hno> There is lots of info about the switch on broadcom community site.
<buZz> ah cool, ty
<lukas2511> hno: where is that info about it being managed? i can only find that this chip can do automagic power settings and stuff, but nothing about being managed
<buZz> i assume ;)
<hno> lukas2511, the datasheet and reference designs.
<hno> configured either via an eeprom, or via spi from a cpu.
<hno> but I don't know how it's wired on the banad-pi board.
<lukas2511> oh okay, product features just listed awesome powersaving stuff, but nothing about being managed and having vlan capabilities or anything else like they have on at least some other chips

<lukas2511> actually it would make sense for that board to have it set up as managed switch, since it has a dedicated WAN port and doesn't seem to have another chip for ethernet stuff
<lukas2511> i guess you could just download the firmware image and poke around a little bit
<hno> Features: http://ur1.ca/ipr0q
<hramrach_> rellla: sure. I have no idea if it's still needed or the lib was fixed since
<lukas2511> hno: ok that list looks better, i only found the list where it states that it has magic power detection stuff for short wires and even more voodoo
<hramrach_> in other words I have no testing. never hit the issue myself
enrico_ has quit [Quit: Bye]
<rellla> hramrach_: i'll send it. it was fixed, but with return -1 if parameters equal 0. your patch seems to make more sence than the one i sent some time ago.

<hramrach_> chkktri: what do you expect of the tablet pc?
<hramrach_> for example this one http://linux-sunxi.org/Prestigio_PMP3670B has basic support but eg touchscreen is not working yet and the performance is poor
<hramrach_> it's not the cheapest tablet to get and not most hacker friendly but it's also somewhat usable as tablet. you can read books on it or play videos that the VE decodes correctly
konradoo77 has quit [Ping timeout: 250 seconds]
<hramrach_> if you want good performance you can try one of the A80 tablets but support for those is really bad
