<swiftgeek> do i need to enable something in uboot to allow for device tree overlays?
<wens> don't think so
<wens> I've been using defconfig and it works out of the box
<swiftgeek> got some nice warnings for my board lol

<swiftgeek> i don't think i see sunxi board when grepping for those so i guess it's not related to my board in particular right now?

<swiftgeek> nice it works flawlessly nw
<swiftgeek> *now
<swiftgeek> even if i don't connect battery to the board
<wens> swiftgeek: it's the whole sunxi platform that's missing DM_MMC support
<wens> why would you disable backlight and pwm? :p
<swiftgeek> no idea the whole thing crashes/collapses hard with those nodes enabled
<swiftgeek> unless i boot android first and reboot
<swiftgeek> i use 1 one board as server and one as tablet so i will probably get around to fixing it eventually :D

<swiftgeek> and all gpios are correct so far

<karlp> mru: so you see things with btattach and stuff? what userspace do you have to load firmwares?
<mru> kernel loads it, but the looks of things
<karlp> yeah, if read the internet enough, newer kernels handle it for you, if you drop firmware blobs in the right magic places
<mru> it complains if the file isn't there
<mru> so I assume it's getting loaded
<mru> maybe I have the wrong firmware
<mru> there are about 10 billion different ones allegedly for the same chip

<wens> anything relevant to bluetooth?

<mru> all the userspace tools work without complaints
<mru> just no comms
<wens> hciconfig?
<mru> looks normal
<mru> same as for working interfaces
<wens> could you paste the output somewhere?

<wens> mru: and do you have the lpo clock correctly referenced in the bluetooth node?
<mru> yes, I had to set a bogus mac address
<mru> the 32 kHz clock is fine
<mru> checked it with a scope
<wens> btw what board do you have?

<mru> I tried that, yes
<mru> not that it matters
<mru> the rx/tx counters aren't increasing
<wens> actually it does :/
<mru> an antenna won't help if it's not even trying to transmit
<mru> besides, over a few inches it tends to work without an external antenna
<wens> mine didn't, though granted I was trying to scan for devices in the same room
<wens> mru: you mean the rx/tx counters from hciconfig aren't increasing?
<mru> right

catphish has joined #linux-sunxi
<wens> upper 16 bits is a key / magic value that you need to write in tandem to update the lowest bit
<mru> oh, not part of the clock module
<wens> correct. the 32k clock is routed through the rtc part first
<wens> that is the clock that drives the rtc clock btw
<wens> and... I just figured out that this fix isn't in mainline lol

<dunnousernamefn> Hello all, I've been searching the U-Boot tree and I'm trying to figure out if there is F1C100s support in U-Boot. I checked the sunxi u-boot, and I didn't find anything about any of the F1 series of chips. The wiki entry for F1C100 is almost completely empty. I did however find a few things related to the F1C100s in mainline linux, but nothing in sunxi U-boot.

<dunnousernamefn> I don't know a lot about this subject so it probably doesn't make sense, but, if I copy and maybe modify a little the device tree from mainline linux, and put it in U-Boot, that would be the minimum required to port the device, right?

<fALSO> probably it somewhat like another one thats supported
<dunnousernamefn> I don't know what other chips are like it

<swiftgeek> wens: now with led indicator working i can guess that as soon those messages appear, PMIC somehow cuts off

<fALSO> LICHE PI NANO
<fALSO> is that your board?
aalm has quit [Ping timeout: 244 seconds]
<dunnousernamefn> I'm not using that board but something like it
<dunnousernamefn> I need USB drivers though, I'm trying to boot over the network by using the ether gadget; it acts as a USB Device Ethernet adapter, so it provides networking
<fALSO> try to catch moeicenowy here
<fALSO> her name is on the headers, she probably knows moar about it
<dunnousernamefn> I did a bit more looking and I didn't find stuff related to F1C100s on U-boot, however there is a thing called Xboot I think the Lichee Pi Nano uses: https://github.com/xboot/xboot
<dunnousernamefn> It seems there is way more support in mainline linux than in any bootloader for f1c100s, so maybe I should just put a kernel and bootloader on SPI flash and have something network mapped
<swiftgeek> oh looks like reboot issue was depending on watchdog or sth
