<libv>
paulk-leonov: can you summarize changes apart from h.265 decoding for us?
<paulk-leonov>
libv, well, uapi updates, but nothing functional
<paulk-leonov>
so nothing significantly useful
<paulk-leonov>
ah there are some fixes for gstreamer from ndufresne in libva-v4l2-cedrus too
<paulk-leonov>
v4l2-request*
<libv>
ok, so no rush for me to go poke at that, yet :)
<libv>
will do so in a few weeks though, once i am able to test csi1 as uwe will have the test boards finished in 1-2 weeks

libv, we're still discussing the UAPI a lot these days, but once that's done, we'll move on to bringing actually useful stuff
<libv>
it's useful enough for fosdem for now, so no pressure from our side there :)

paulk-leonov: the h264 parts are the same as in the cedrus-h264 PR?

<ndufresne>
paulk-leonov, thanks for merging, pretty happy to see a 5.1 branch
<ndufresne>
paulk-leonov, I'll bring more patches soon, I have fixed the mplane support, it was wrongly associated with the pixel format instead of the device capabilities
<ndufresne>
rockchip driver is mplane only, but using single plane NV12 (weird isn't it ;-P)
<ndufresne>
anyway, when I get this working on rockchip, I'll cleanup and send things over, and again, thanks for 5.1 branch, won't have to change the uAPI back and forth to test between both SoC ;-P
<ndufresne>
libv, just a curiosity, in which context do you use the VA driver ?
<libv>
fosdem, hdmi video input
<libv>
shorter term is replacing software decoding for the on-the-box display preview
<paulk-leonov>
wens, yes, only that it was rebased (the initial PR doesn't apply anymore)
<wens>
I see that it looks like the h264 patches rebased onto hverkiul's for-5.3a branch

<hanni76>
hi, is this possible with axp223 and r16 (bananapi m2m) and mainline kernel make it not switch off DC1 while reboot ?
<wens>
reboot never shuts off the pmic
<hanni76>
it does
<hanni76>
i checked with osc and voltmeter
<hanni76>
I type reboot, led is blinking and +3v disappears for a second
<hanni76>
that's so disappointing
<wens>
oh, then maybe it's because of the always-on property
<hanni76>
wens, can I control this somehow ?
<hanni76>
yes, there is always-on in dts
<wens>
you could try removing it, though you would want to make sure that all users (according to schematics) have references to it
<hanni76>
I see, but why "always-on" does this ?
<hanni76>
it's meaning completely opposite

<ndufresne>
paulk-leonov, libv: nice, with 5.1 and head of VA driver, a lot more content plays cleanly now !
<ndufresne>
a great base for the VA driver refactoring
<ndufresne>
I think I'll hack kmssink to enable DMABuf, the drm driver seems pretty solid, so I would not be surprise it will just work full FPS/4K with that
