<KotCzarny>
but since there is some warning you probably missed some switch or configuration in packager

ullbeking: I dug out some old sony 4Ω ~subwoofer speaker and it's doing fairly great with that LM4890 knockoff
<swiftgeek>
on that q8 tablet board :D
<hellsenberg>
swiftgeek: how about adding a 1140W power amplifier to a sunxi tablet? :D
<buZz>
lol
<pmpp>
that would be *a lot* of firepower in class D
<swiftgeek>
hellsenberg: it's already doing 71dBA
<hellsenberg>
it's not class D (doesn't use FETs, but rather BJTs)
<swiftgeek>
and that's 2m away when it's directed to the ceiling
<swiftgeek>
i can that a win lol
<swiftgeek>
currently doing `sox bigwarning.flac -p repeat 3 | play - -m siren.flac repeat -` (from halflife sounds)

<swiftgeek>
and if don't run it at full power, power usage is negligible
<hellsenberg>
i'd need an engine to run my amplifier :D
<swiftgeek>
so it will do nicely as alarm when power/isp goes down
<swiftgeek>
i'm just not sure about one thing
<hellsenberg>
oh, I see what you want to do
<swiftgeek>
> Power Amplifier Mute
<swiftgeek>
shouldn't that be inverted? Currently i need to enable it to un-mute
<hellsenberg>
swiftgeek: it's a pin used to avoid the "pop" sound that happens on powerup
<swiftgeek>
hellsenberg: welp you could certainly use it like that, but here it's connected to GPIO and i don't think anybody cared ;D
<swiftgeek>
here it's more about plugging in headphones i think
<hellsenberg>
ah, yes, could be

oh mono is on right channel
<swiftgeek>
wow so audio from A13 SoC goes directly to headphone jack :D
<xqdzn>
I just found out linux kernel, modules, device tree, could be used across distros. Distro packages help us to install it because it contains specific scripts that automate it. Isn't it?

<hellsenberg>
lurchi_: not really. class A, AB use BJT and drive them in linear mode (not very efficient, but distortion is kept pretty low). Class D use a more complex high-frequency modulation switching circuit, so they can use MOSFET. That switching is then smoothed out at the output. this can introduce noise/distortion, but efficiency is much higher
<hellsenberg>
it's like linear vs switching power supplies
JohnDoe_71Rus has joined #linux-sunxi
<lurchi_>
hellsenberg: you can do linear regulation with both FETs and BJTs, and you can do switched mode with either ...
<hellsenberg>
not because you can, it means that you should :D
<lurchi_>
Look what is in a typical linear regulator, you will find FETs
<hellsenberg>
maybe inside the op-amp, but Q1 is bipolar

hi, i'm working on an h2+, orange pi zero. the board has 3 usb ports, but only one is working. DTS doesn't mention seperte usb ports, just &usb_otg and &usbphy , so i'm assuming there's no individual setup, is there?
<aep>
apparantly armbian has overlays. i'm using upstream linux-sunix tho

aep: in that case you need to enable the ehci/ohci controllers in the DTS
<smaeul>
mainline DTS only enables hardware that is part of the board, not anything that requires soldering or adding components to work
