<ullbeking> Is Allwinner H6 well supported in upstream stock kernel? I am particularly interested in OPi One Plus here

<jernej> montjoie: I just tried thermal patch on top of 5.4 on Tanix TX6 (H6) and it works fine when reading /sys/class/thermal/thermal_zone0/temp

<anarsoul> montjoie: I tested it only on A64 (don't have other devices) - works fine for me

<BenG83> I can test on PineH64 A/B
<BenG83> maybe I find a H5 device somewhere too

<montjoie> anarsoul: I have probably a problem since i didnt see the driver loaded
<montjoie> but strange that the /sys files exists without it
<montjoie> I hit that on pineh64 model b and sun50i-h5-libretech-all-h3-cc and sun8i-h2-plus-orangepi-r1
<montjoie> basicly all kernelci boards
<anarsoul> montjoie: they exist because you have thermal zones in dts

<jernej> can anyone help me with setting up ethernet on lime2 (recent model with Micrel PHY)?
<jernej> Driver is up, but there is no communication
<jernej> not sure what to check or do now
<tuxd3v> jernej you are using /dev/urandom as source for rng-tools, ibelieve
<tuxd3v> the driver seems there
<tuxd3v> can you login via console?
<jernej> yes, it works just fine, except ethernet
<tuxd3v> lsmod what it sayd?
<tuxd3v> does you see anny stmmac
<jernej> yes, I see network adapter, but DHCP doesn't work and it gets some local address in range of 169.*.*.*
<jernej> instead of 10.42.0.*
<jernej> I also can't ping anything, even if I set IP address and mask by hand
<jernej> seems like PHY issue to me
<jernej> tried same setup just with H6 board and everything works
<jernej> btw, driver is build in, it's not module
<jernej> or not, let me check
<jernej> yes, it's build in
<BenG83> speaking of ethernet PHY, I was helping someone else build boot stuff for a Pine64, with upstream ATF and u-boot but it seems there is no PHY power from DC1SW
<BenG83> has anyone recently tried something similar?
<anarsoul> pine64-lts works for me
<BenG83> it was an original 1GB model
<BenG83> but I think phy power hasn't changed
<anarsoul> I should have it somewhere...

<tuxd3v> ethernet is a bit of a problem in H6 too
<tuxd3v> you need to correct vontage in dts..
<tuxd3v> but in A20 boards..they are more than tested..
<tuxd3v> it could be a regression, I still haven't tested 5.4.x series in A20 boards..
<jernej> just for info, using same kernel on A20-OLinuXino-Micro, ethernet works
<jernej> so it has to be something lime2 specific

<tuxd3v> for uboot you build with defconfig: 'A20-OLinuXino-Lime2_defconfig' ?
<jernej> yes
lkcl has quit [Ping timeout: 258 seconds]
<tuxd3v> you built it with uboot v2019.10 ?
<tuxd3v> or you used the master branch?
<tuxd3v> or tag..
