montjoie: I've encountered the same problem with the sun8i-thermal driver you described on Saturday. sun8i_ths_probe was failing with -2 because DT node listed "ahb" clock name instead of "mod" which was expected by the driver.

<anarsoul>
I don't have H6 nor H5, so I can't test it
<anarsoul>
and megi isn't here :\
<montjoie>
my test job on A64 kernel paniced
<montjoie>
I will retry with another next
<anarsoul>
make sure you have CONFIG_NVMEM_SUNXI_SID=y
<anarsoul>
and CONFIG_SUN8I_THERMAL=y
<montjoie>
seems yes
<montjoie>
anarsoul: if your driver need it, you shoukd kdepend on it
<anarsoul>
it should work without calibration data as well
<anarsoul>
anyway, works for me on A64, I guess I can ask to drop other dts patches if they don't work for you
<montjoie>
it worked on v6
<montjoie>
so no reason to not work, it is what puzzle me

thermal driver doesn't work for me either on H6
lurchi__ is now known as lurchi_
<anarsoul>
guess I'll ask to drop H6 dts patch unless someone's with H6 is willing to fix it
<anarsoul>
mripard: can you drop H6 dts patch from thermal series? There are reports that it's not working but I don't have hardware to test it myself
<anarsoul>
(see above)
<montjoie>
in fact only sun8i-h3-libretech-all-h3-cc was tested on v6
<montjoie>
(on my side)
<anarsoul>
the only h3-related change between v6 and v8 is moving common with h5 code into sunxi-h3-h5.dtsi
<anarsoul>
I tested every series on my pine64-lts and it worked fine
<montjoie>
it is why I try to "connect" patch sent on mailing list and booting on our labs, for more feedback for people lacking hw
<jernej>
fyi: It works for me on H6
<jernej>
tested on Tanix TX6 box and kernel 5.4
<montjoie>
I try on top of next
<montjoie>
I am applying them on top of my work branch and will add some debug to find out why it dont load
<anarsoul>
jernej: I tested on top of 5.5-rc
<jernej>
I just wanted to say that it works for me on H6
<montjoie>
so perhaps something wrong on my setup
<montjoie>
mmmh it get loaded on H6 on next-20191210
<montjoie>
anarsoul: it work on h6, perhaps the latest next as something which prevent it to load

Hi, I was wondering if analog-codec was supported on a H6? I've got a Orange Pi One Plus and wondered if the hardware mic could be used with an Armbian setup, giving that it appears that Armbian uses sunxi kernels etc
