is glad to see people use 'noone' as it makes more sense than the correct 'no one'. We have someone, everyone, etc. Why not noone?

willmore: not sure but i think it's something about the rules forbidding mixing of greek and latin root words, even if it makes grammatical and phonetic sense
<karlp>
what "the rules" is this that you speak of?
<karlp>
it's generally avoided, if you know enough to know that reason, but hah!
<gnarface>
well, official rules of the English language are written somewhere, i assure you of that, even though you'll frequently see professionally published articles break these rules
<karlp>
hah!
<karlp>
_where_
<gnarface>
i don't have a link on hand. ask your high school english teacher
<karlp>
you can find style guides from various orgs that decide things they like, but "the english rules" ? hah!

(last time i was in an english class, all this stuff was in a book)

english is the most flexibly freeform language around.
<gnarface>
that is a true statement without refuting my argument in any way

megi, okay, that's weird. If only we had a data sheet on it, huh? :)

PLLs and clock trees--the misunderstood magic behind every device.
<willmore>
I'm going to look over all that code later today. it's too early for me to stare at code and not fall back asleep.
<megi>
:)
<willmore>
My first quick look at the clock code told me that either there are a lot of assumptions in how clocking works for that chip or my briain wasn't up to speed and realizing obvious implications of other known things.

datasheets for these things are not very verbose

The ones I've seen only talk about the electrical needs, nothing about the USB protocol side.
<megi>
right

So, either that BSD person got some inside info or they just played with it and found the practical limits.
