gee, it seems LibreELEC kernel patched so much that it cannot fit in my Armbian. It stuck 5 minutes and complain about cannot mount root on unknown-block(0,0), although I gave proper UUID in /boot/armbianEnv.txt. May I ask jernej what are the kernel requirements for DRMPlane and DRM decoding? I need to go back to tune the Armbian's kernel config,
<sbbg>
which can boot for me.

early warning for people running f2fs on 32-bit devices, 5.6 was released with struct field overwrite bug in f2fs, that can lead to various issues with the filesystem

<tnovotny>
megi: are you using f2fs? I'd like to know longer term experience and comparison to jffs2 and ubifs.
<megi>
I don't use jffs2 or ubifs, so I can't compare against those
<megi>
longer term experience is painless mostly, recently I found out that I can disable checkpointing, and if anything bad happens between that and when I reenable it (like unexpected shutdown, co software hang/reboot) after reboot the filesytem will be in the state prior to disabling the checkpointing
<megi>
pretty useful for atomic updates
<megi>
Except for 5.6 when they introduced compression, I haven't saw any issues personally for the last 4 years or so
<megi>
I'm running f2fs on all my arm devices
<megi>
just an anecdote of course ;)
<KotCzarny>
is it good for sdcard/emmc ?
<megi>
KotCzarny: should be
<megi>
it seemed noticeably faster than ext4 when I started using it
<KotCzarny>
(asking because tnovotny mentioned nand specific filesystems)
<megi>
which was also the reason I did a switch
<KotCzarny>
maybe i should try running h3droid on top of f2fs
<KotCzarny>
:>
<KotCzarny>
assuming i can find a patch for 3.4
<megi>
It tries to make writes in sequence, so you get faster writes
<megi>
and probably optimizes for erase block sizes too
<megi>
heh
<megi>
it was added in 3.8
<tnovotny>
megi: great, thanks for info. We had recently a problem with ext4 on sdcard, but I don't know the root cause yet. I only know that new firmware of the sdcard solved it. As I understood, they were expecting fat.
<tnovotny>
So f2fs test makes a sense.
<megi>
heh, SD card expecting a specific filesystem sounds a bit wonky
<tnovotny>
well, they have "optimized" for some use case. And we had a different one it seems... Or it was a plain bug in their firmware, I don't know yet.
