<koty0f> mru: What was the type of board you used for measurement of the RTC?
<koty0f> I finished with RTC with unsatisfactory results. According to A64 datasheet: RTC has internal LDO (RTC-VIO) which powers GP_DATA_REG and other circuits while powered off. I guess the power draw (50 uA) is caused by this LDO but didn't find a way how to turn it off. I wonder if anybody achieved better results with internal LDO.
<koty0f> * internal RTC.

<gediz539> clementp[m]: i will try to fix incorrect informations
<gediz539> downloaded dwc_lpddr4x_multiphy_pub_databookWM573127463.pdf but under which page should it be shared?
<gediz539> yoq: thanks for cleaning up watermarks. I could not easily get rid of them and decided to leave them as is.
<clementp[m]> gediz539 not sure there is a correct place to push it on sunxi. And I don't think it's a good idea to push all the confidential datasheet on the wiki. Alllwinner is not so "pushy" about this but maybe Synopsys is.
<clementp[m]> What libv and NiteHawk thinks about the idea to share not allwinner confidential datasheet on the wiki. E.g here we have the synopys lpddr4 datasheet that could be usefull for h616.
<clementp[m]> gedi z539 could you sent a mega link for the moment. For sure it will interest jernej
<clementp[m]> @freenode_Ixnus:matrix.org: just found these documents using baidu. Usually I get link on csdn or bbs.16rd could try for H313 and A100 too
<gediz539> oh wait
<gediz539> i did already uploaded it
<gediz539> how to remove
<gediz539> lol
<clementp[m]> What is on a wiki stay on the wiki :)
<gediz539> whatever
<gediz539> i will wait for your call when im in prison
<gediz539> i know it is not a wise idea but would it be ok to replace it with something empty, for now?
<gediz539> until an administrator *somehow* removes it
jbrown has joined #linux-sunxi
<gediz539> reverted documentation link on the H616 page
<clementp[m]> You can't it will stay in the upload list forever I think..
<clementp[m]> Until an admin delete it
<gediz539> i see. i thought it may be better to make it at least slightly less visible.
<gediz539> this oversharing attitude may cause some headache, sorry. i will be more careful.
<clementp[m]> Thanks for the link :)
<gediz539> you're welcome
<gediz539> btw, i think i may have found something interesting and novel
<gediz539> have you ever heard about something like "FEL BIOS tester"?

Ecco has joined #linux-sunxi
<Ecco> Hi! Dumb question: is an AXP209 really necessary? Can it be replaced by a few discrete LDOs?
<clementp[m]> Ecco: no it's not. Have a look at Tanix board, they don't have one nor crystal. Cheapest configuration possible...
[___^] has joined #linux-sunxi
azend has quit [Ping timeout: 260 seconds]
[___^] has quit [Ping timeout: 240 seconds]
<Ecco> Interesting
<Ecco> thanks!
<Ecco> I assume those board don't do USB?
<jernej> well, 24 MHz crystal is "must have", but not 32 kHz
<Ecco> oh, so you mean no RTC?
<Ecco> Oh, also, while we're on the topic of price
<jernej> RTC is still possible with internal RC oscillator
<Ecco> Well, crappy RTC then I assume :)
<jernej> not sure which SoC you're using
azend has joined #linux-sunxi
<Ecco> None, at the moment. Just looking at the super cheap ones
<Ecco> Speaking of which, what do you think would be the best choice in terms of flash memory for a V3s?
<Ecco> as in, cheapest
<jernej> IIRC older don't have RC oscillator, but I might be wrong
<Ecco> well, a 32k crystal is rather cheap anyway
<jernej> flash as in NAND or eMMC or SPI NOR?
<Ecco> as in "whichever is cheaper"
<Ecco> but yeah
<Ecco> ofc SPI NOR is going to be much more expensive per byte
<jernej> SPI NOR is useful for bootloader or very small systems
<Ecco> but let's say that anything greater than 8MB would fit my bill
<jernej> I would say NAND is probably cheaper, but better avoid it
<Ecco> why?
<Ecco> isn't 99.9% of flash memory now NAND anyway?
<jernej> well, eMMC is just NAND + controller
<jernej> so yeah
<Ecco> also, I'm interested in dirt-cheap systems that can run Linux
<jernej> you will have a lot of software related issues
<Ecco> gotcha
<jernej> mainline supports only SLC and even that not on every AW SoC
<jernej> even cheap TV boxes use eMMC nowadays
<jernej> so I guess it's not so costly
gaston1980 has quit [Ping timeout: 260 seconds]
<Ecco> ok
<Ecco> Also, uSD cards seems to be even cheaper than eMMC
<Ecco> is it just me or is it indeed the case?

<PPA> Much cheaper
AneoX has quit [Ping timeout: 256 seconds]
<Ashleee> also you can generally change uSD cheaper than a soldered eMMC :)
<Ashleee> unless you use eMMC on a module
<PPA> at least if buying them from trusted brands & vendors, dunno about loose eMMC modules from China
<Ashleee> however I find that cheap eMMC is still blazingly fast compared to cheap uSD :)
AneoX has joined #linux-sunxi
<Ashleee> eMMC in Tanix is about 100 times faster than cheap 32GB uSD
dev1990 has joined #linux-sunxi
<Ashleee> to be fair I bought those uSD about 4 years ago for... next to nothing :D
<Ashleee> one day I will try out the 10 year warranty on them :D
<Ashleee> watcha building Ecco ?
<Ashleee> some compute stuff?
<Ecco> yeah
<Ashleee> A64 is pretty nice for this, so is H6 as it has everything in mainline required for max performance IIRC
<Ashleee> and you can get A64 really cheap
<Ashleee> *but* they are all Cortex A53...
<Ashleee> A72 is much much faster per MHz, but I have yet to find a cheap A72 cored chip (be it sunxi, rockchip, amlogic) in single units
lurchi_ is now known as lurchi__
<Ashleee> I wonder how high can you clock A64 chips :)
<Ashleee> considering H6 can go upto 1.8GHz
<Ashleee> and it's the same core
