mripard, jernej: afaik, the message id of the email one is replying to is enough to not break a thread, and lore.kernel.org provides everything necessary.

i had some regression on memory latency on clk freqs above 480 MHz. testing with tinymembench

I just wanted to mention this to see if anyone else is experiencing it, but for me every kernel I built after 5.8.0 (5.8.18, 5.9.X, 5.10-rcX) for A64 doesn't have working ethernet for some reason
yann has joined #linux-sunxi
<apritzel>
psydruid: yeah, that's a know and nasty issue currently being discussed
<apritzel>
try changing phy-mode to "rgmii-id" in the DT
<bauen1>
it will still be a few days till i can boot my pine a64
<bauen1>
is changing the dt enough ? or is that just fixing a symptom of an underlying issue
<psydruid>
apritzel, I will do so, thanks
<asdf28>
does anyone know how to find the module name for a kernel module parameter?
<apritzel>
bauen1: AFAIU rgmii-id is (mostly) the correct mode (With the Pine64+ being an exception: rgmii-txid), and should have been there from the beginning
<apritzel>
bauen1: but both the PHY driver and the MAC driver did not do the right thing until recently
<asdf28>
for example, this kernel file: drm_fb_helper.c has an option "drm_fbdev_overalloc", and i can change it with "drm_kms_helper.drm_fbdev_overalloc=100". but how do i find out that the module name is "drm_kms_helper"?
<asdf28>
it is not listed anywhere in that file
c10ud has joined #linux-sunxi
<apritzel>
asdf28: find the Makefile that lists the .c file you found that in
<apritzel>
(typically in the same directory)
<apritzel>
that should give you a either a hint at the driver name already, or a Kconfig symbol that you can chase down (many Kconfig entry tell you the module name)
<asdf28>
oh i found it
<asdf28>
that
<asdf28>
that's awesome, thank you!
<apritzel>
alternatively you could use modinfo on all .ko files, it lists all parameters of a given module file

jernej: regarding h616/h313 i was able to construct an spl from parts of the spl of a tv box and parts of the spl from the orangepi zero 2 images with which i can boot the images now on the tv box :)
<hexdump0815>
jernej: would this maybe be of any help for dumping registers etc.? the image boots fine until xorg and seems to run fine and stable (i tried the ubuntu focal desktop image)
