<ithkuil> hey
<ithkuil> this says i need tcl tk 8.3
<ithkuil> wheres the windows binary for that
<Riastradh> Presumably, somewhere on <http://www.tcl.tk/>.
<ithkuil> i am finding binaries for newer versions
<ithkuil> but i could only find the source for 8.3
<ithkuil> so far
<ithkuil> will a newer version work
<Riastradh> I can't say, since I have no idea what you're talking about.
<ithkuil> to do gui there is a binding to tcl/tk for ocaml and the web page i read (which i believe is for a recent version of ocaml, i think the one i have) says i need tcl/tk 8.3
<Smerdyakov> ithkuil, is there a way for you to avoid using Windows?
<ithkuil> i could switch over on my dual boot but i have a modem and its a winmodem so i have to use the external which goes slower
<ithkuil> only 28.8
<Riastradh> Modems? How quaint.
<ithkuil> so i have been avoiding linux a little because i dont feel like trying to make the winmodem work
<Smerdyakov> Heh. Yeah, is there any way you can avoid using modems?
<ithkuil> yeah but i am trying to save up money for a car so i can finally move out of my parents house again i'm 26 years old
<ithkuil> i could also use a bed ive been sleeping on an air mattress
<ithkuil> nevermind.. i should just go kill myself

<Riastradh> Why would one need to buy a car to move away from one's parents?
<monochrom> Once you have a car you can move out?
<monochrom> Do you plan to sleep in the car?
<Riastradh> (He left.)
<monochrom> Don't you want to buy a place to live instead?
<bk_> what is a 'winmodem' anyway ?
<monochrom> Oh well.
<Riastradh> I'd rather buy a good bicycle and move to somewhere where there's public transit...
<monochrom> a modem that uses your CPU to do the job.
<Smerdyakov> I'd rather not buy a bicycle and move somewhere where there's _good_ public transit!
<bk_> hm
<Riastradh> Or continue with an existing bicycle and save money for living and food.
<bk_> i'd never buy hardware that forces me to use windows because they wouldn't make linux drivers
<Riastradh> I'd just never send money to Intel or Microsoft or any of that lot at all.
<monochrom> Right bk_.
<monochrom> Right Riastradh too.
<monochrom> I go further (on bk_'s note). I don't use internal modems (dialup or dsl).
