I was thinking... depending on the kind of transforms done on "genomes", could the cost of the new path be computed incrementally from old cost ?

it's probably not possible, but that something that crossed my mind the other day...

Maybe for some very simple genetic operators it would be possible, if it did not scramble the data too much.

But some operators are not simple and the resulting cromossomns may be too different. I think it would be much easier to just calcule the cost by calling the cost function, the normal way.
