rick42: i followed along and tried the code in your article, works perfectly.
<aw-aw->
PicoLisp community needs more well-written and fun articles such as those published by rick42 - they're entertaining and really highlight how easy it is to create powerful solutions in so few lines of code.

Hi aw-aw-
<aw-aw->
Regenaxer: are you planning to release PicoLisp 19.6 in June?
<Regenaxer>
Yes, indeed, so this is nothing special. Just a new Debian package, the releasing itself is continuous
<tankf33der>
how it could work on linux and what triggered on netbsd8
<Regenaxer>
I think any automated tools don't know about the Lisp heap and cannot check it
<Regenaxer>
the os side memory management is only heap chunks
<tankf33der>
then they should not catch and crash.
<tankf33der>
and at the same time netbsd7 works.

Hello. I read documentation of 'tick, and I think I do not understand its part. In ‘For execution profiling, tick is usually inserted into words with prof, and removed with unprof.’, what do ‘prof’ and ‘unprof’ refer to? I’d expect them to be some function, similar to 'trace or 'debug.
<Regenaxer>
Hi f8l! 'prof' etc are in @lib/prof.l
<f8l>
Thank you for your prompt reply. Did I miss some documentation about that?
<Regenaxer>
No, I'm afraid that prof.l itself is not documented
<Regenaxer>
The usage is simple, you load it, 'prof' some functions (like 'trace' or 'debug')
<Regenaxer>
Then run your program
<Regenaxer>
and then (profile)
<f8l>
Simple indeed.
<Regenaxer>
