<ocdtrekkie> This emoji thing has gone too far when people comment on my posts with one "character" responses that aren't understood in Chrome, Firefox, or my Android phone.
<ocdtrekkie> Whereas, this :) can be read on every device made in like the last thirty years.

<jarco_> asheesh, as a reply on what you send me yesturday, I have rocketchat installed. There seems to be no way for other people to connect to it from externally without having a sandstorm login. Is this assumed correct by me?
<dwrensha> jarco_: yeah, Sandstorm handles login
<dwrensha> many apps allow anonymous access, but Rocket.Chat is not one of them

<jarco_> dwrensha, Oh ok, I was trying to let ghost blogging platform handle the login but it seems impossible :(
<dwrensha> jarco_: is there any particular reason that you find logging in through Sandstorm to be unsuitable?
<jarco_> Yes, eg. I cant connect external rocketchat clients. And I also don't like handing of user management to an external application. If for example I would want a client to be able to edit content in a ghost blog, I would like the permissions to be handled by ghost ... Its just feels safer
<dwrensha> jparyani is currently working on support for Rocket.Chat mobile clients

<ocdtrekkie> jarco_: The whole point of having Sandstorm handle login is to be safer.
<ocdtrekkie> Essentially, you don't need to worry about most vulnerabilities in apps like Ghost and Rocket.Chat because Sandstorm is handling authentication.
<jarco_> ocdtrekkie, Ok I understand your approach better now. I was under the impression that sandstorm was more of an installer tool ... But it seems to do way more.
<ocdtrekkie> It can be hard to explain because Sandstorm does some things like Google Drive, but it's not like Google Drive, and it does some things like Docker, but it's not like Docker, and it does some things like those cPanel app installers, but it's not really like those either.
<jarco_> I understand, It's not the solution I was looking for but still a cool product
<jarco_> Perhaps i ll keep using it.

<ill_logic> Hello. I found an interesting thing developing my sandstorm package.
<ill_logic> Locally, if I have the `zim` package installed, my flask app determines that an uploaded zim file has a zim MIME type.
<ill_logic> Pretty convenient for quick discrimination of file types uploaded.
<ill_logic> Interestingly enough, when I run my sandstorm app within vagrant, the same thing happens.
<ill_logic> That is to say, it's not dependent on whether zim is installed on my VM, but rather whether it's installed locally on my OS.
<ill_logic> Oh interesting, is it populated client side?
<ill_logic> I think it is. So, I need to find a new way of determining the file type :-/
