<ocdtrekkie> I emailed frigginglorious. But for the interested: Use -- to separate vertical slides and --- to separate horizontal slides.
<taktoa> I wonder if there's stuff that could be done in terms of integrating Cap'n RPC with http://www.bus1.org/bus1.html
<mokomull> taktoa: what're you thinking? Pass around bus1 endpoints as capnp capabilities?
<mokomull> It's been damn near a year since I've tested bus1, but it was ... not very reliable at all last time I did.

<taktoa> mokomull: I was thinking the other way around
<taktoa> implementing the semantics of capnproto in terms of bus1
<taktoa> err capn rpc
<taktoa> and maybe gaining additional security properties because the kernel can enforce things
<simpson> Maybe. Sounds arduous. Also I don't trust bus1 devs to grok capability theory.
<isd> I haven't looked at the realities of bus1 lately.
<isd> capabilities as an operating system primitive are certainly not a new thing.
<isd> They're a good system level primitive. It makes me a little sad that bus1 takes the form of *yet another* subsytsem.
<isd> instead of making SCM_RIGHTS scale better or something.
<isd> But I feel like that conversation has happened in the channel a few times.
<isd> taktoa: finished reviewing your pr.
<taktoa> isd: ah, let me take a look
<taktoa> isd: is nproc available on darwin?
<isd> I don't know, and I don't have a mac to check.
<isd> But that code snippet is linux-specific anyway
<isd> I know it's *not* present on FreeBSD.
<taktoa> okay
<taktoa> isd: by the way, I've got two other teammates working on haskell-capnp; we're in #haskell-capnp if you want to join
<isd> I noticed some folks from the same school forked the repo :P. cool

<JonTheNiceGuy> Nodeel: just spotted this. You need to run the command to request an admin token. That gives you a URL to log in to.

<kentonv> Nodeel, did you enable the option "Disallow collaboration with users outside the organization"? If so, you must make sure the admin account is a member of the organization you defined. Otherwise you'll get into such a loop.
<kentonv> I'd suggest trying again without that option and seeing if it works.
<kentonv> (we really need to make it show an error message rather than just looping... known bug)

<ratmice_> so, capnproto can send pointers e.g. between structure elements, but I was curious if had a mechanism for passing slices into lists or blobs
<ratmice_> it seems you could easily role your own type for it, but didn't see e.g. a primitive for it
