Hello
<JonTheNiceGuy>
Hi there!
xet7 has joined #sandstorm
<johndoe123[m]>
I can't install sandstorm on the standart port. It say that the port 80 nor 443 are not available. So I have checked the source code to understand why, and there is a test that is failing :
<johndoe123[m]>
but when I do a netstat -tulpn, it display nothing on the port 443
<johndoe123[m]>
and this is a fresh server install, so why this test is failing please ? Have you any idea or clue please ?
<JonTheNiceGuy>
I have no idea - are you root?
<johndoe123[m]>
I have tried both root and non root
<JonTheNiceGuy>
Try `netstat -antp | grep 443`
<JonTheNiceGuy>
As root
<johndoe123[m]>
# netstat -antp | grep 443
<johndoe123[m]>
root@XXXXX:~#
<johndoe123[m]>
nothing appear :/
<JonTheNiceGuy>
hmm
<JonTheNiceGuy>
Is this running in some kind of constrained environment (e.g. container, vm, or similar), or on bare metal?
<johndoe123[m]>
it's a dedicated server rented on kimsufi
<johndoe123[m]>
so I guess it's a bare metal
<johndoe123[m]>
I have updated the source code and forced the 80 and 443 to return yes on the installer, it seams to works now
<johndoe123[m]>
so I guess my installation will work but there seams to be a bug on the installer, or maybe there is other strange stuf about my dedicated server indeed
<JonTheNiceGuy>
You're not the first person I've seen with this issue in the past week or so... @freenode_Aeaeaeaeae:matrix.org was also complaining of the same thing. Maybe there is a bug?

Weirdly, I can't edit any of my Etherpad grains this morning on Oasis. They disconnect when I try to type anything.
<ocdtr_web>
On load I'm seeing an error that says it isn't able to create a stack trace of the error, which appears to be a random string.
<ocdtr_web>
Error occurs for me in Firefox 55.0.3, but not in Internet Explorer.

I'm seeing the same error with EtherPad on FF 55.03 on Mac/OSX. Safari loads the same grains fine. It's the same error for previously created grains and attempting to create a new grain. The sandstorm logs are showing js errors.
<gharris>
Oddly enough, it may not be all FF 55.03 installs.

<ocdtr_web>
gharris: I wasn't having this issue like... yesterday though. And 55.0.3 isn't exactly "brand new". Nor has there been a new Sandstorm build.
<ocdtr_web>
It's not Sandstorm, getting identical behavior on beta.etherpad.org. Will file an issue against Etherpad for it.
<TimMc>
Firefox ESR 52.3.0 (64-bit) on Debian Linux 8 seems to work, although the line numbers are effed up.
<gharris>
64 bit seems to be working. Going to go check the one that wasn't working now.
<gharris>
The one that's not working is 64 bit also. Both have Java 8 144 installed.
<ocdtr_web>
Java shouldn't matter.
<ocdtr_web>
In theory.
<TimMc>
Maybe a caching thing. Or extensions. :-/
<ocdtr_web>
Random check: gharris: Do either or both of your Firefoxes have Privacy Badger?
<ocdtr_web>
It detects no trackers, and the error occurs even if I tell Privacy Badger to disable for this site.
<ocdtr_web>
But Privacy Badger is version 2017.09.12, which means it's the only thing on my computer that may have changed since yesterday.
<ocdtr_web>
It's Privacy Badger. They have a point release to fix "major site breakages in Firefox".
<ocdtr_web>
Privacy Badger screwed up and broke lots of things including Google Sheets.

There's a couple of different things in logs. In the Sandstorm logs, there's js errors about open sessions: Exception while invoking method 'openSession' TypeError: must start with number, buffer, array or string
<gharris>
But in the EtherPad log, (click on the monitor looking deal), it looks like it can't find a font.
ocdtr_web has joined #sandstorm
<ocdtr_web>
gharris: I am now baffled, because my issue was definitely caused by Privacy Badger.
<ocdtr_web>
Do you have the same problems if you go to beta.etherpad.org?
<gharris>
Nope. beta.etherpad.org worked fine. Seems to be something in Sandstorm. I've rebooted the server, the client, and the non-working FF.
<ocdtr_web>
Then you definitely have some unrelated Sandstorm package-related concern.
isd has quit [Quit: Leaving.]
<gharris>
Yeah, I'm afraid that since it's a single user on a specific browser that it's going to have to be a grin and bear it answer at this point.
