<kentonv> rainloop is looking like a decent open source webmail interface these days
<kentonv> anyone actually used it?
<kentonv> alternatively, I wonder if Mailspring could be teased apart such that its Javascript can run in a browser with the C++ code running server-side.

<TimMc> Hmm... Radicale supports CalDAV, which is cool. But I want my laptop to be the store of record for calendar info, and only publish it out to my Sandstorm instance for my spouse etc. to sync to their machines. Is that workflow supported by clients, servers, etc.?
<Ed[m]> i believe you can setup one webkey with an 'all access' (i.e. write permissions) role and secondary webkeys with a 'viewer' role for the same radicale calendar if that's what you need?
<Ed[m]> if you're looking for a system whereby changes pushed from clients need to be approved centrally before publishing then that is beyond the scope of sandstorm
<Ed[m]> s/sandstorm/radicale
<Ed[m]> of course i may be overthinking the whole scenario and misinterpreting your question, in which case i apologise, and if that's the case then yes: sandstorm acts as the caldav server and your calendar clients can all see the same calendar, and all clients (if configured that way inside the sandstorm grain) can create new events and tasks and have those changes reflected back to all other clients
<TimMc> The experience I've had with Lightning (Thunderbird extension) and Google Calendar is that the events seem to live on Google and only get synced down; if I start my computer with no internet, I don't see the events. (I think. Or it happens under some other condition.)
<TimMc> I guess I'll just do some experiments. Maybe try out some alternative clients, too, just to be sure.
<TimMc> I *really* want to do calendar-sharing, but I don't trust The Cloud as my store of record, even when it's my or a friend' Cloud. :-)
