<JacobWeisz[m]> Has anyone tested the new Davros in experimental yet?
<TimMc> I might be interested in trying it. What's new about it?

<isd> Optimizing startup time. I don't think there was anything else?
<JacobWeisz[m]> Yeah, that should be the only difference, in theory.
<JacobWeisz[m]> I have a shameful Sandstorm app approval backlog I need to work through soon.
<JacobWeisz[m]> Davros is the one that likely needs the best testing though, I think.
<TimMc> I upgraded to the experimental and it does look to be faster, but I won't have anything like reliable numbers until this initial backup finishes. (I'm switching from Tarsnap to borgbackup.)

<jimpick> hi everyone. I'm trying to install sandstorm on Ubuntu for the first time, and when I click on the sandcats generated http link - I get "This site can’t provide a secure connection" https://jimpick.sandcats.io/setup/token/<token>
<jimpick> ah, do i need to forward some ports?
<jimpick> Okay, I figured out how to map it to a different port and set up forwarding on my router
<jimpick> okay, figured it out
<JacobWeisz[m]> Cool, the other fun fact is it can take a minute or two to get the cert from Let's Encrypt after setup.
<isd> TimMc: I don't think there should be any post-startup performance change, it was mostly about startup times (particularly with a cold disk cache)
<isd> ...which is a problem many sandstorm apps have, unfortunately.

<TimMc> Yeah, I was just looking at the self-reported startup time. But there was a ton of I/O contention at the time.
