I did it for spaces here https://github.com/TbLtzk/Centaurus/blob/master/www/js/services/services.basic.js#L67-L69 and had no need for more. But I from http://www.w3schools.com/tags/ref_urlencode.asp it seems that you can use `encodeURI()` to handle any character correctly
