<lab> if professor Mazières's has to choose only one to present his best achievement, which one will be: Kademlia or SCP?
<stellar-slack>
<lab> do you have any idea? @jed, you are involved in both. :grinning:
<stellar-slack>
<jed> I'll ask but he definitely spent more time working on SCP

<mvaneijk> Hi, does anyone know how to restart a couple of nodes which had consensus while preserving the ledger and state? I used the docker setup with 3 nodes, but two nodes crashed. When I create new (non-'fresh) node containers and link them to the existing state containers their historytables are empty and rebuilding history is broken.

<dzham> @mvaneijk: check with the people in #validators
<stellar-slack1>
<dzham> you’re running your own network?
<stellar-slack1>
<mvaneijk> I'm running a couple nodes for testing indeed

<jed> @mvaneijk: you should: 1) stop all of them 2) `stellar-core-setup forcescp` on 2 of them 3) then restart all 3

<mvaneijk> hello @jed, thanks for your reply. The thing is that these were created using the '/start nodeN fresh forcescp' Command, when I restart, the 'fresh' command will be passed again
<stellar-slack>
<jed> leave off the fresh part
<stellar-slack>
<mvaneijk> yep, but the command cannot be changed, only by recreating the container, but than the databse will be gone
<stellar-slack>
<jed> I'm not that familiar with how the multi node docker is set up though.
<stellar-slack>
<mvaneijk> or is the data only in the state container
<stellar-slack>
<jed> the data is only in the state container
<stellar-slack>
<mvaneijk> ok, I'll try that
