<mvaneijk> Is there any information available about the stress-tests executed on the network than "tested with 100 million accounts and few hundred transactions per second"? I'm searching for it, but not much luck @jed @graydon
<stellar-slack>
<lab> i am sure there is no such test.
<stellar-slack>
<mvaneijk> more like an educated guess than ;)
<stellar-slack>
<lab> it the designed performance, not archived.

<dzham> I wouldn’t call it earning though, but that’s just me

Hey bitbaby, the Bitcoin giveaway is still on the map. It has been delayed due to the network upgrade (we've been focusing on that for the past months). I don't have a precise date, but I can post back here when we do

<scott> @lab: We certainly did that stress test. Early on, when we first announced those number, we set up a private network on some hardware and ran simulated load tests that got into created millions of accounts and did hundreds of transactions per second. We haven’t done a full real world test like that, but it’s a bit better than just a guess, IMO
<stellar-slack>
<scott> Doing a benchmark like that rigorously is a very tough thing to do, so certainly real world will not be the same, but it gave us a really good indication that the system will scale to that level
<stellar-slack>
<mvaneijk> Good to know @scott!
<stellar-slack>
<scott> happy to help :)

<cyberomin> Welcome @acetakwas, more Nigerians coming through
<stellar-slack>
<scott> :) welcome @acetakwas, I want to introduce you to @eno, who is leading the py-stellar-base project. It would be awesome if you two can connect and collaborate on it
<stellar-slack>
<acetakwas> cyberomin: Thanks :) Glad to be here.
<stellar-slack>
<acetakwas> scott: Thanks. That would great!
