<Justafool> is stellar focused on finance, or can it be used as a trusted state to build applications (DNS, packet-routing, data-storage of any kind)?
<Justafool> the stellar consensus seems to render the DHT obsolete
<stellar-slack> <jed> Justafool yeah you can use it to hold all kinds of other state as well
<Justafool> cool!

<stellar-slack> <powderfan> I've just finished to get stellar-core setup on my windows machine and it was a quite smooth experience! Thanks to great documentation! The biggest pain was the VS2015 Update! I created a small pr for additional steps I had to take. https://github.com/stellar/stellar-core/pull/1015
<stellar-slack> <powderfan> I'm currently using postgreSQL but I'd try and get it running on MS SQL via ODBC. Anybody any experience with this setup? If it isn't much more than adding the ODBC soci backend, I could give it a try and if successful create another PR for it.
<stellar-slack> <jed> I haven't tried but it should just be adding the ODBC soci backend.
<stellar-slack> <jed> although there might be some DB specific weirdnesses you will have to work through
<stellar-slack> <eva> @powderfan: woot! You should join #validators
<stellar-slack> <powderfan> Yes I'm currently not validating. Think my uptime would be too bad for the moment
<stellar-slack> <eva> Thanks for helping with the docs @powderfan
<stellar-slack> <powderfan> yeah, hope it is accurate and helpful
