<aaaa> anyone familiar with the
<aaaa> xc2064 project?
<aaaa> I'm looking into various retro chips and wondering if the xc2064 is documented enough that it would be possible to replicate / simulate it?
<aaaa> specifically - i'm wondering if there's enough tooling / documentation that i could trivially build a simulator and have some way to place simple designs (even hand-routed is fine) onto it
<mangelis> out of curiosity: what computers/consoles/etc use xc2064 ? so far i only found some cd-rom drive for amiga
<aaaa> afaik an early apple machine used it for FPU?
<aaaa> i'm mostly interested in messing around with the 2064 for the sake of itself, but it would be nice to have some baseline to go off of

<mithro> aaaa: We have always planned to bring up the xc2064 project as a simple "my first FPGA" demo but haven't ever quite had the time to do so
<aaaa> ah
<aaaa> so for now, the bitstream stuff + reverse-engineering stuff + datasheets is all there is?
<mithro> The bitstream documentation still needs some work around the IO tiles IIRC
<mithro> The cells and routing is all there
<mithro> aaaa: There was some recent discussion around this on twitter
<tpb> Title: xc2064/reverse.py at master · shirriff/xc2064 · GitHub (at github.com)
<aaaa> hmm okay
<aaaa> but there's no actual model/emulator of the whole chip available?
