Seems to be fairly rare. I also need to talk to him about yosys behavior, and I'm not prepared to have that convo over twitter
<jn__>
there's a #yosys channel on freenode
<jn__>
but clifford isn't there, either. oops, sorry
* cr1901_modern1
is in the #yosys channel already :P

I chatted a bit with the Cypress guys at Maker Faire, they seemed to be fairly alright with this sort of work (mentioning the detailed TRMs) and said to contact product support if we have any questions about stuff that's not well documented if we're at that point

Marex: are you giving a talk on openfpga? If you need content on the Cypress RE I can help, I have a ton of notes and stuff in my laptop and apartment because that's all I've been doing these past few months since I've lost my job hahas...
<pointfree>
Marex: What's the timeframe for when you do the talk, etc?
<Marex>
pointfree: I am doing a talk on opensource FPGA tools, I can add one or two slides about openfpga
<pointfree>
okay, so not much space.
<Marex>
yes, but I believe it should be mentioned there

clifford: i am interested in working on the artix 7 bitstream reverse engineering; i have started looking into that some time ago, but didn't have that much time to make much progress
<balrog>
pointfree: since you weren't here, I chatted with some Cypress guys at Maker Faire and mentioned this effort; they touted the TRMs and said that if you do run into stuff that's not in the TRMs to not hesitate to contact support

balrog: Yes, Cypress is friendly to the idea open source PSoC tools existing, both engineers and management it seems. When I was at Bay Area Maker Faire I also told them about the project and they gave me two business cards and the two free devkits that I am using now.
<balrog>
pointfree: they love to give out dev boards to makerspaces and whatnot
