Foone_: the minesweeper thing, my only thought is it has something to do with the cheat code dating from windows 3.1 which would draw an extra pixel OUTSIDE THE WINDOW in the lower rightmost(?) corner of the desktop, which would indicate by being white or black whether the cursor was over a mine or not
<Lord_Nightmare>
this code doesn't work anymore in win95 since i don't think windows can draw outside of their border areas anymore, but this might be affecting the window size someho

w
<whitequark>
ahaha
<Lord_Nightmare>
iirc the cheat code is 'XYZZY shift enter'

<cr1901_modern>
there is almost certainly going to be moves you make which are guesses on Expert :(
<Sarayan>
not that many
<cr1901_modern>
there is always enough that I blow myself up
<cr1901_modern>
Then again, I can't beat Win 3.x at reversi either
<cr1901_modern>
Sarayan: Context is... it's too easy in Expert to get into a position where you have two valid moves you can make, and you know w/ certainty one is a mine, and the other isn't. But you don't know which is which.
<cr1901_modern>
you have two valid moves you can confidently* make
<cr1901_modern>
Also TIL Google has minesweeper game
<Sarayan>
cr1901: It happens, but not that often. I suspect you're missing some deductions
<Sarayan>
once you broke through the start you can usually finish
