12:24 <adam3us> Taek i dont think people will be willing to pay more because they are richer for the same service. not everyone owns huge amounts of bitcoin. and they're viewing the fee more like a postage stamp, its by weight not by value. they might pay for higher priority like buying a first class postage stamp vs 2nd. i always buy 2nd postage stamps. in europe it basically doesnt make any difference to delivery time.

12:27 <adam3us> Taek so it might be a slight influence if they hold a lot of coins and feel rich. but i think the automatic increase by weight being in satoshis and but usd is a much bigger effect. similarly people can decrease priority or manually override fees, where they know how or have the controls to do that (often with hosted wallets, services, exchanges, even many p2p wallets) there are no controls and the service decides for you.
