hey all; I've a question related to Bitcoin-NG, I've just skimmed through its paper and some of the other papers that tackle its security
<funnyduckey>
surprisingly, I seem unable to find a clear answer to a very basic question; which is - what constitutes the actual crypto-puzzle in Bitcoin-NG
<funnyduckey>
I have two ideas: 1) miners mine only on key blocks 2) miners ale allowed to mine on the very 'regular' blocks
<funnyduckey>
if it was required to mine on the key-block only, then the crypto-puzzle would be the same throughout the leader's epoch; and a new leader would just sign the consecutive regular block confirming the history of events
<funnyduckey>
but then I found this paper "Game-Theoretical Analysis of Mining Strategy for
<funnyduckey>
which seems to argue that miners can mine on 'regular' blocks,but then there' s a new crypto-puzzle every 10 sec
<funnyduckey>
then they build an entire 'advanced attack' based on this assumption; why not just mine on the key-blocks; make the miners occupied with a single puzzle and sign the latest regular block (by new leader)

wow, this channel is a quiet one; isn't it ('off-topic' label incoming in 3..2...1)
