gnash (opensource flash player) has a poor performances on CB. Someone know (and maybe already did) if it is possoble to recompile it in optimized way for cubiebaord? (maybe --enable-neon or some other tricks during recompilatipon?)

gnash has poor performance everywhere, just a warning. You might get some degree of performance boost, but it won't be as good as real Flash (which cannot be run)

(unless something changed in the last 6 months; I had gnash on my desktop with an 8core x86_64, it chewed CPU like crazy.)

lunra, thanks for warning. i agree flash better than gnash, anyway i did not registered the same bad performance you report, and my cpu x86 is a old HT -fake- dual core. naybe you should try to upgrade your gnash version.

Perhaps, I'll give it another try next time I'm at my desktop. I wish you the best of luck. I can't think of any specific compiler flags for this, except maybe -Os (optimise for size to try to keep as much in cache as possible - also maybe -mthumb), -fomit-frame-pointer in case it still uses an interpreter to reduce some function call overhead

GargantuaSauce, you said gstreamer/ffmpeg must be compiled with cedar support, now im tryind to do but the qeustio is? how to choose what to recompile? if i do "dpkg -l | grep gstreamer" i get more than one results: shall i have to recompile everithind has gstreamenr in the name? (the same for ffmpeg) I have no proble to do, simply i want to avoid to do all the job and then discover i worked for nothing.

in recompiling gstreamer0.10-ffmpeg-0.10-13, but it does not recognize flags --enable-cedar and --enable-neon. Im followinf the "debian way" to recompile and i placed the 2 above optioni insede debina/rules into line CFLAGS, but as i said, they are unrecognized.
