either actually, but windows build is a wee bit lagged (and really hasn't been tested at all..) - best used under powershell or cygwin

ah - 1 min -= someone at door

am back, but family starting to clamour for lunch :)
<the_cuckoo>
if anyone is interested, pm me and i'll provide links and docs (may be lagged a bit in responding though) - it is, i feel, a lot more interesting than it probably sounds :D

why is it only on request
<the_cuckoo>

i don't know anything about video editing, i just thought you might have a better chance of getting feedback if you'd just provide the link already

fair enough :) - the linux build can be downloaded from: http://users.telenet.be/acp/vml/build.tar.bz2 - one of the reasons i asked for a tester is to see if this actually works for others (only tested on ubuntu 18.04)
<the_cuckoo>
to use it, download, unpack somewhere (creates a build directory), open a shell, cd to where you unpacked and source your environment with: source build/vmbenv
<the_cuckoo>
if it works, running 'vmlbatch' should provide a terse usage message - if that step fails, i'd like to diagnose the issues (mostly using ldd to see if i've missed anything from the build, or am relying on dsitro provided components)

if you follow that link, you'll see there are 3 main types of components which comprise a filter graph - inputs, filters and stores - what's available to you may depend a bit on locally installed packages, but this link provides a source file scrape of some of them [not comprehensive]: http://users.telenet.be/acp/vml/
<the_cuckoo>
my web hosting sucks, so i don't have room to push the windows build - if anyone wants that, please ask and i will provide a link to it (it's direct to my work machine, so rather that was private)
<the_cuckoo>
and i would suggest that if anyone tries this stuff and wants to provide feedback even if it's just to say it doesn't work or it's crap, PM is perfectly fine :)

and not to blow my own trumpet, but there are a few [large] broadcasters using this stuff
