<veltas>
Yes that's exactly the problem, the website has not been maintained
<veltas>
gforth.org has been maintained a bit actually
<veltas>
I don't know why but they need to sort it out, it makes it look dead
<veltas>
Who knows how much interest/traffic they've lost over this....
<veltas>
The problem I would guess is there are always more interesting things to do than muck about with a website :P
<veltas>
Was anyone here ever involved with one-laptop-per-child?

veltas: the main issue for me is need to convince my distro to update to the latest and greatest. but the git tags are a bit confusing as they have been using the 0.7.9_YYYYMMDD approach, with about 40 tags for 0.7.9 spread over two or three years
<lispmacs[work]>
distro maintainers will want to know what is the current stable version
<veltas>
I'm on Debian this moment and I'm happy that gforth is here, but it is still 0.7.3
<veltas>
Which distro?
<veltas>
You can probably email Anton Ertl to get that kind of info, ask him for a link to the comp.lang.forth archive announcement or something
<veltas>
I tried searching earlier but ironically google is not good at searching the archive which they host
hosewiejacke has joined #forth

veltas: I'm running Guix. Guix can attach the package to a git tag easily enough. But the maintainers don't like to attach on to any little commits that aren't serious releases
<lispmacs[work]>
maybe I'll email Anton after I get home from work
