Which compares a YM2612 (OPN2) with a YM3438 (OPN2C), and I can't help but wonder if Yamaha fucked up the 2612's DAC

I mean, the grit of a 2612 is probably useful to *somebody*, but I much prefer the cleaner sound of the 3438, and it's not like the difference is subtle

Boyf thinks that because the 3438 is CMOS, it might be an SNR thing.
