<marcan> electronic_eel: tbf, motherboards/cases have gotten away with using ribbon cable for USB in the past
<marcan> and using some real USB cable isn't too difficult

<whitequark> electronic_eel: it's possible to downgrade glasgow to 12 in firmware iirc
<marcan> but you want to test 480
<whitequark> that's true
<whitequark> marcan: btw, any luck with the tags?
<marcan> whitequark: still on the back burner, sorry :/

<electronic_eel> marcan: the jig fixture for glasgow isn't built yet and it is going to be a semi-custom design
<electronic_eel> so we can go for a design that allows shorter cables without compromising usability
<electronic_eel> we should of course also use proper twisted&shielded cables for usb
<electronic_eel> esden: one thing my currently planned jig pcb doesn't do is checking the leds (if all of them light up and are not shorted to other leds)
<electronic_eel> is it ok for you to check them all manually/visually?
<electronic_eel> or should we consider adding some automatic test mechanism?
<electronic_eel> either a light sensor above each led (problem: cross-bleeding light from the leds nearby)
<electronic_eel> or a current consumption based approach (problem: we'd need finer resolution for the current measurement and some lock-in measurement in the software)
