<esden>
ahh very good. The 1BitSquared discord server glasgow channel is now bridged to here. :)
<d1b2>
<esden> And with here I mean the freenode glasgow irc channel. 🙂
<d1b2>
<edbordin> oh, cool!
<d1b2>
<esden> that took much longer than I anticipated 😄

whitequark: I might need to do some more tinkering with the bridge bot. But it seems to be working for now without having to give it any special permissions so far. So that is good. :)

the color scheme for nicknames is super hard on eyes
<whitequark>
dark blue on black for edbordin
<d1b2>
<mubes> @esden love it! I always do this for Dev boards cos I'm too lazy to keep going back to circuit diagram or notes...having stuff on the board is much easier.
<marcan>
whitequark: I configure my terminal for a brighter dark blue for this reason; not the only thing that expects that combination to be readable

I guess the color scheme is designed with black-on-white in mind

<Perigoso> where do i find the glasgow's irc

<eddyb> @esden hmm PUPD made sense with the context from the livestream and having head about it being a feature before, but I wonder if PU/PD would be marginally clearer
<d1b2>
<eddyb> (OTOH I assume something like P{↑,↓} wouldn't be helpful,,)

<TomKeddie> I've had my second kick at a PMOD adapter for the lvds connector, the first kick messed up the mechanical. Will be a while before I send the boards off, getting a batch together.
<d1b2>
<TomKeddie> Might be useful for higher speed capture with a quad hyperram pmod for the data. (yes I know the ft2232 is super fast).
<electronic_eel>
TomKeddie: don't you need some resistors near the source (=Glasgow) to make use of the lvds port?
<tnt>
Well it wouldn't be used in LVDS mode really.
<electronic_eel>
tnt: ah, seems you are right, it is just quad/octal spi over lvcmos
<d1b2>
<TomKeddie> Correct, for hyperram only the clock is differential. It will also be useful as a general purpose pmod interface.
<tnt>
TomKeddie: even the clock isn't diff on the 3v3 chips. Only the 1v8 ones.
<tnt>
What's the VIO on the LVDS connector btw ?
<tnt>
Oh, you're supposed to _provide_ the VIO you want.
<tnt>
Did you do that ?
<electronic_eel>
yeah, there is VIO_AUX on the connector, but also 3V3, so you could bridge them if you want 3V3
<d1b2>
<TomKeddie> @tnt another bug! Actually I think I'll put a LDO on the board so I can use the 1.8v hyperram.
<d1b2>
<TomKeddie> Thanks for checking.
<electronic_eel>
how about using some solder bridges to allow for both configurations?
<d1b2>
<TomKeddie> Yep, will do.
<d1b2>
<TomKeddie> Can usually put a 0R onto the LDO footprint but will add one separately.
<electronic_eel>
I'm not familiar with the hyperram interfaces. do you need some additional resistors or caps for the differential clock?
<tnt>
Nope.
<electronic_eel>
ok, so no extras needed for the 3v3 and 1v8 variants
<electronic_eel>
maybe a tvs diode array, because pmods are designed to be plugged in and out often?
<electronic_eel>
glasgow has them on the regular ports, but not on the lvds connector
<tnt>
33 ohm series resistor should do the trick and take the edge of fast signals too. Never had an issue with the icebreaker or any other ice40 boards.

<esden> ok, let's see the colored nicks should be disabled now 😄
<esden>
whitequark: sorry for hurting your eyes. It would be nice if those colors could be encoded in two modes. "this is the color for a dark background and for light background use the following" otherwise it will never be right for someone. (But in general: who is using light backgrounds for IRC ... it is blasphemy! :P)
<sorear>
the _easy_ out here is for someone to turn on +c
<whitequark>
esden: there's actually another issue with colors...
<whitequark>
TomK/eddie's nick ended up the same yellow that irssi highlights messages to me with
<whitequark>
so it seems like a kinda flawed idea in general
<whitequark>
anyway, thank you for fixing it!
<electronic_eel>
thanks from me too, also for setting up the bridge of course
<gruetzkopf>
as one of _those_ people who switch around their GTK and Qt themes between dark and light a lot: thank you (there's no correct color for me)
