can I use a Glasgow to r/w to a Winbond SPI EEPROM on 1.8v? I made a voltage divider together with a logic level converter for a Raspberry Pi, but that was unsuccessful

I've read that people had succes just using 3.3v which is above the ratings in the spec but I'd rather not risk that
