<lainlives>
did not, werent included in this git fork, thanks seems to be relevant (as i use fedora)
<asdf28>
did it build ncurses?
<lainlives>
its failing at finding the ncureses for host
<lainlives>
which i do have, including the devel headers
<asdf28>
what happens if you do "scripts/build ncurses:host"?
<lainlives>
seems to be building ncurses
<lainlives>
now why does ncurses take as long to build as the kernel lol
<asdf28>
does it put libncurses.so in your toolchain?
<lainlives>
indeed it did, probably should in theory work now once the build gets that f ar
<asdf28>
i wonder why it's building again for you when it should have already been built
<lainlives>
it has not been built
<asdf28>
as it's a dependency of the heimdal package
<lainlives>
its currently the only x86_64 binaries on the toolchain
<lainlives>
along with make and ccache
<lainlives>
oh im an idiot its the only thing in the toolchain it seems to haev kept the build files around for
<lainlives>
asdf28: but yeah there seems to bea bug in the script as of several months ago (i can look up the exact version its forking from later)
<asdf28>
did you build the heimdal package manually?
<asdf28>
i don't know what it's needed for, but it seems to be needed only for the host
<lainlives>
no im just trying to generate my first release tarball of the 9.8 based stuff
<asdf28>
when you build it manually, it defaults to build for target iirc
<lainlives>
yeah i looked into it, heimdal needs to build and run a binary on the host as part of its build process
<lainlives>
this binary requires curses
<lainlives>
im not even sure what hiemdal could even be useful for in libreelec
<asdf28>
i'm just saying, this could happen if you manually build the package, because it might try to build for target but it has no target dependendies defined
<lainlives>
yeah im using the make release script
<lainlives>
PROJECT=Rockchip DEVICE=RK322x ARCH=arm make release > out.txt
<lainlives>
etc
<asdf28>
by building manually i meant invoking "scripts/build heimdal" instead of letting it get there by just building the whole image
<asdf28>
but it does say it's building for the host when it fails?
<lainlives>
it works now that theres a built ncurses, builds target fine
<lainlives>
it seems the script isnt building the host reqs or something in the autogen stuffs
<lainlives>
because after manually building ncurses all hiemdal errors vanished
<asdf28>
hmm... something might have messed up your toolchain. good that it works now!
<lainlives>
asdf28: i think it was a parallel build issue, its taking _AGES_ to compile the host stuff prereq to heimdal

vsftpd on my server is not working with kodi, with the firewall up! When I switch off the firewall it works. Ports 20 and 21 are open. Microsoft file explorer is not working either. Can go in ftp server with cmd from windows. ??
<twanny796>
some option in vsftpd.conf
