xdarklight: yeah I’ll update the text
<chewitt>
it was working fine on GX before Maxime started the compliance rework
<narmstrong>
GXBB ?
<chewitt>
GXL definitely .. I can't definitively say GXBB, but I was flip-flopping between a VIM1 and WeTek Hub for a long time and I don't recall it _not_ working
<narmstrong>
the codebase has gxbb support, I prioritize GXL, G12a and SM1 for now, VP9
<narmstrong>
later HEVC and GXBB support for HEVC

narmstrong: just courious: what is reason to go vp9 first over hvec?
<wens>
youtube? :p
ldevulder has joined #linux-amlogic
<narmstrong>
yep, aosp uses vp9 or h264 for youtube
<narmstrong>
and we had issue bringing up hevc on g12a
<warpme_>
yeah. youtube what i was suspecting :-p otoh much more demanding use-case is hvec. aosp???
<narmstrong>
hevc and vp9 share the same HW for decoding, so it will be fast to bring up
<wens>
warpme_: android / aosp provides hardware decoding capabilities for apps to use
