<m][sko> Hi I am testing mainline kernel with odroid N2 and I have this errors pwm-regulator regulator-vddcpu-a: Failed to get PWM: -517
<m][sko> I found mailing communication that about this problem http://lists.infradead.org/pipermail/linux-amlogic/2019-October/014085.html but that should be related to 5.4 and it looks like fixs isn't in 5.5 tree
<m][sko> this idea didn't help http://lists.infradead.org/pipermail/linux-amlogic/2019-October/014364.html but I don't know if Change CONFIG_PWM_MESON from m to y is right solution for this problem
<xdarklight> m][sko: there's this patch from narmstrong (I believe in the same thread): https://lore.kernel.org/linux-amlogic/1a98c5f0-de8a-53bc-cfb7-c9b3255667c6@baylibre.com/
<xdarklight> can you please test it and report if it works (or not)?
<m][sko> I am testing patch with CLK_IS_CRITICAL but it didn't help
<m][sko> btw do I need mainline u-boot to test it?
<xdarklight> sorry I missed your second link
<m][sko> I am on hardkernel's u-boot
<xdarklight> (it's from the same thread)
<xdarklight> can you try this one (instead of Neil's patch) instead?
<xdarklight> (please note that this is "tryagnosis" instead of "diagnosis" - I don't have an Odroid-N2 myself so I cannot test or debug any of this)

<m][sko> http://lists.infradead.org/pipermail/linux-amlogic/attachments/20191021/d2949a77/attachment.obj and CONFIG_PWM_MESON=m and I still see Failed to get PWM: -517
<m][sko> I don't have problem with booting. I am just reporting this error message and cpufreq-info don't report frequencies for big core
<xdarklight> ah wait, "Failed to get PWM: -517" is probably fine because -517 means -EPROBE_DEFER (which is: try again later)
<m][sko> but then I have this https://pastebin.com/yfMK8MLm
<m][sko> with CONFIG_PWM_MESON=y all "works" fine
<xdarklight> I think I have to chicken out here because I don't even understand why the .dts is written like this: https://github.com/torvalds/linux/blob/master/arch/arm64/boot/dts/amlogic/meson-g12b-odroid-n2.dts#L287
<xdarklight> cpu100..103 use cpu-supply = <&vddcpu_a> but CLKID_CPUB_CLK
<xdarklight> maybe that's correct, but I'd expect (vddcpu_b and CLKID_CPUB_CLK) or (vddcpu_a and CLKID_CPU_CLK)
<xdarklight> you may want to pastebin your kernel log though, so others can have a look at it
