<Dees_Troy> Anyone around? Trying to make my own recovery for a YuanDao N70 S but I can't seem to get a proper mkbootimg that will pack a recovery that will boot, even when repacking the stock recovery
<phh> try with abootimg
<Dees_Troy> what's that?
<phh> a tool to extract/create/modify boot.imgs
<phh> or you could just apt-get install abootimg
<Dees_Troy> doesn't seem to contain anything for the SHA calculation that seem to be important for rockchip devices from my reading
<phh> ok
<Dees_Troy> you have experience with rockchip?
<phh> yes
<Dees_Troy> and abootimg worked on your rockchip device?
<phh> i don't remember
<phh> i usually use mkbootimg
<Dees_Troy> same here but the stock mkbootimg doesn't seem to work
<Dees_Troy> from AOSP
<phh> sec, let me diff rk's mkbootimg with aosp's
<phh> but check kernel_addr/ramdisk_addr/second_addr/tags_addr compared to your original boot.img
<phh> (the difference for the SHA with standard mkbootimg is SHA1_Update(&ctx, &hdr.tags_addr, 4 + 4 + 4 + 4 + 16 + 512);)
<Dees_Troy> yeah, I seen that
<Dees_Troy> just for some reason even when I use a "proper" mkbootimg it still doesn't boot for some reason
<phh> i guess your best bet is to wire a serial then

<Dees_Troy> I guess I'll mess around with it some more
