viric: are you sure RKM MK802IV AP6210_20131107_1080P.img works on your device? there are some version and possibly some reseller abuse the name
<naobsd>
viric: can you see HTC-T010-V2 (or V3) text on board?
<naobsd>
and I had to sign agreement "only for Firefox OS and related work" ;)
<naobsd>
I guess mainline kernel might be "related work", kexec will be helpful for "Firefox OS" development ;)

naobsd: I was thinking about uboot... does uboot work with another toolchain than 4.6/4.7 ?
<rperier>
it needs to work with the yocto toolchain with is 4.9 in the last release (dizzy 1.7)
<rperier>
s/with/which/
<rperier>
mmind00: I think that if you repost your acknowledgement for my patch series to the first patch 1/4, it might make things faster. Because the cover letter is not registered on patchwork, and Dave uses patchwork for netdev. On patchwork, this serie is "under review" because he probably did not see your comment :)

rperier: not sure for now. is there eabi (non-linux) toolchain?
<viric>
naobsd: I see HC-T010-V4 2013-12-09
<viric>
naobsd: I tried in another PC with windows, same outcome.
<paowz>
naobsd: good morning ! :) I'm currently trying to start a rootfs (specified at 0xa000 in parameter) but I'm getting /bin/sh: can't access tty; job control turned off
<paowz>
googling doesn't say much about that error.. many reasons can be at the base of this issue.. (UUID, partition.. etc..)
<paowz>
..so I end up with initramfs prompt..

paowz: maybe /dev issue? all I can say is rootfs need to be crafted carefully
<naobsd>
viric: "RKM MK802IV AP6210_20131107_1080P.img" is older than "HC-T010-V4 2013-12-09". I have no info about V4, if it worked on your device, then it may be ok. but I recommend to use latest one I pointed
<paowz>
naobsd: is the sdcard supposed to be seen as something like /dev/mmcblk0p1 once you loaded the kernel ??
<paowz>
if so, this is not the case.. and without sdcard partition, I guess the kernel won't find any rootfs when specifying "root=/dev/mmcblk0p1" in parameter file..
<viric>
naobsd: I'm about to try
<rperier>
naobsd: the default one is eabi-linux, but it is possible to build your own toolchain and to customize things , however not sure if you can use differents toolchain for a build everything
<naobsd>
paowz: kernel doesn't do anything for /dev/*
<paowz>
doesn't it populate /dev through udev ??
<viric>
naobsd: much better!!!!!
<rperier>
I will search in the documentation
<naobsd>
rperier: sure. it might be possible to build with default toolchain but different gcc option. anyway currently I'm not sure u-boot rk30/31 can be compiled with gcc-4.9, I need to test it
<viric>
naobsd: thank you a lot!
<naobsd>
viric: well, flashing is completed without error?
<viric>
not yet :) flashing
<rperier>
naobsd: I might create a recipe for uboot and you might use it with the default toolchain to test it ? or you can test locally without yocto ?
<naobsd>
viric: ah, but sure, better :)
<viric>
what made you think that the img was wrong?
<naobsd>
viric: I guess bootloader in old firmware might be old for V4
<viric>
but was there any trace that made you think that? Or you simply noticed a hang?
<naobsd>
rperier: for now I can try only linaro gcc 4.9, is it worth for Yocto too?
<viric>
linux booted. great
<viric>
naobsd: what is the latest kernel source for this? Is it merged upstream?
