<naobsd> srao___: is there any document I can/should see for tsadc?
<srao___> naobsd: I'm not aware of a doc, but the failure mode was simply that it wasn't updating temperature accurately -- i.e. it would get stuck
<srao___> naobsd: the HW changes we needed had to do with caps and resistors on the clkin_32k line to the rk3288 (P25)
<naobsd> it should be connected to hym8563 on firefly
levd1 has joined #linux-rockchip
<naobsd> it's enabled at power-on, can be disabled. let check driver...
levd has quit [Ping timeout: 272 seconds]
<naobsd> ah
<naobsd> hym8563_probe()->hym8563_clkout_register_clk()->i2c_smbus_write_byte_data(HYM8563_CLKOUT_DISABLE)
<naobsd> I guess there must be hym8563-clkout user in dts...
<naobsd> hmm, clock-output-names = "xin32k"; which should be used?
<naobsd> I have interest about difference between hym8563 driver and pcf8563 driver... but it's another story
<naobsd> srao___: anyway, thank you for your input! I guess it was disabled.
<naobsd> hm, name "hym8563-clkout" is used only if clock-output-names = is missed in dts
<naobsd> I think I need to add "xin32k" to tsadc node or somewhere to enable it
<srao___> I think we're carrying a patch to enable it
<srao___> and of course you should switch status to "enabled" in your dts
<naobsd> well, that patch is already merged
<naobsd> I think what I need is
<naobsd> &tsadc { clocks = <&hym8563>; }
<naobsd> I'll try it
<srao___> ok yeah, if your 32k clock is supplied externally, you might need that to enable this clock
<srao___> i think we have that clock coming from rk808

levd1 has quit [Ping timeout: 245 seconds]
<naobsd> oh wait, who uses 32k clk in rk3288 soc? I'm not sure clocks in tsadc node is right place...
<naobsd> (btw, on firefly, 32k clk is used by wifi/bt unit too)

<naobsd> mmind00_: I want to reorder some properties in node. "compatible" is 1st, "reg" is 2nd, then sort alphabetically, right?
<naobsd> I guess "sort alphabetically" is not strong rule, readability is prior in some case
levd has joined #linux-rockchip
<naobsd> mmm, it might not be true...
<naobsd> ok, this time I fix clock-* properties...

<naobsd> srao___: thermal zone error seems to be gone, thanks!
<naobsd> btw I cannot read /sys/class/thermal/thermal_zone?/temp by cat... cat: read error: Invalid argument
<naobsd> maybe ioctl is needed
<naobsd> strange, cat should work
<naobsd> anyway it shouldn't be a problem of dts

<naobsd> mmind00_: it seems rtl8201f phy used in rayeager px2 needs: 50MHz clock input need to be configured before hard reset by gpio
<naobsd> mmind00_: currently I'm doing hard reset by pinctrl in dts, I guess it's done before configuring mac clk
<naobsd> ah
<naobsd> /* Optional regulator for PHY */
<naobsd> priv->regulator = devm_regulator_get_optional(dev, "phy");
<naobsd> I guess I can abuse this...
<naobsd> mmm, no
<naobsd> clk_set_rate(priv->refclk, 50000000); is done after regulator_enable(priv->regulator);
<naobsd> I should add reset-gpio or something into arc emac
<naobsd> I saw reset-gpio patch somewhere

<lanlaf> Is rockchip proprietary bootloader supposed to boot newer kernels like 3.10 or mainline kernel on rk3188?
<c0d3z3r0> yes, but you have to use the rk3188 dts file
<mmind00_> amstan: the gmac of rk3288 went into the network tree some days ago
<lanlaf> I have tried to boot slitaz 3.10 bootimage from here: http://talk.radxa.com/topic/88/linux-3-10-kernel-from-rockchip-for-rk3188-and-rk3288/10 but could not, I could see all the regular messages from the bootloader on the serial port, but nothing from the kernel.
<lanlaf> I am on a tronsmart mk908ii, but the image is for radxa 2013.

<viric> hi!
<viric> I'm with rkflashtool... trying to write the parameters. I write them (properly crcd)
<viric> I read them fine.. but on reboot, they are wiped
<viric> the boot says:
<viric> SdmmcInit=2 20
<viric> Fail!
<viric> unsigned!
<viric> also: Boot ver:
<viric> !!!No parameter
<viric> What am I doing wrong?
<viric> upgrade-tool tells me "prepare idb fail"

<viric> I booted in maskrom mode
<viric> but then upgrade_tool hangs on "Waiting for maskrom start"
<rperier> I pinged mturquette via email (on ML), because I cannot still find clk fixes in linux-next (I need to backport these patches all the time to work on rk3188)
<rperier> I just realized that it is for 3.19... and mturquette merged it 5 days ago... perhaps I need to wait for the next 3.19-rc ...
<rperier> so my question is stupid
<rperier> :D
<rperier> and in this case it will be automatically merged onto linux-next
<viric> meh. this maskrom mode doesn't work for me
<viric> with linux.
