<Tony_> hello there.

<Tony_> finally, I fixed the problem about Audio on Lubuntu(RK3188).
<Tony_> now it works fine almost.
levd has quit [Ping timeout: 244 seconds]
<Tony_> 6.Fix Audio out put problem
<Tony_> 1. let ubuntu join "audio" group
<Tony_> sudo usermod -a -G audio ubuntu
<Tony_> 2.install pavucontrol
<Tony_> sudo apt-get install pavucontrol
<Tony_> 3.enable sound card output(just need do one time, I don't know why pavucontrol can't open it)
<Tony_> sudo amixer cset numid=1,iface=MIXER,name='Playback Path' SPK
<Tony_> 4.play video by smplayer/ play audio(wav/mp3/etc) by vlc。
<Tony_> 5.about sound cards
<Tony_> there are two cards on rk3188. there for HDMI and machine self.
<Tony_> (1) ROCKCHIP-SPDIF is for HDMI.
<Tony_> (2) RK_RK616 is for machine self.
<Tony_> you should check it to the correct out device.
<Tony_> then you can use pavucontrol, it works fine almostly.

<AstralixNB> I was just a bit ... shocked as after the high postage price there where unexpected high taxes on the delivery bill and then after unpacking and installing the board did do nothing...
<AstralixNB> But it looks like it doesn't start any LED and the preinstalled Android doesn't show any logoshow and then it didn't like my TV...
<AstralixNB> But then, after seeing the blue light flashing, disconnecting and reconnecting the TV, Android is showing up...
<AstralixNB> So it just needed some patience...

<AstralixNB> Ok, after the shipped Android worked, I flashed lubuntu image... both don't work at all.
<AstralixNB> the 0930 image crashes as the kernel tries to init DRAM
<AstralixNB> the 0809 crashes as uboot isn't satified with dtb...

<rperier> yeah I know, this is written on their website :)
<AstralixNB> Normally developer kits are declared as something less expensive, no matter if they come from china or even well known brands from US
<AstralixNB> Ok, trying to flash back Android...

<mmind00> AstralixNB: does it enter some sort of boot loop with this error? rk3288-sdk-uboot binaries have a bug that leaves the mmu on when entering the kernel ... workaround is https://github.com/mmind/linux-rockchip/commit/bbfaf85b0b6f8bc3e36b63caa3a28c5b70c5e2c4
<AstralixNB> Hi!
<AstralixNB> yes it loops around
<AstralixNB> hehe... I thought it works the other way round... I get a board with working images and then I program non working ones...
<mmind00> sounds very much like the issue with the mmu ... Rockchip fixed that with the uboot in the rkchrome-repo, but I guess it never made it into a bsp
<mmind00> maybe the firefly guys had upgraded uboot on their dev-boards but forgot that the ones shipped out had old loaders
<AstralixNB> no idea... But I am at the company... A binary image would be great
<AstralixNB> U-Boot 2014.10-RK3288-02 (Oct 30 2014 - 09:27:41)
<AstralixNB> This is from the latest android image from their page
<AstralixNB> This results in a kernel reboot right at DRAM init.
<AstralixNB> The other one
<AstralixNB> U-Boot 2014.01-00643-g77f8e4c-dirty (Apr 21 2014 - 15:36:44)
<AstralixNB> can't find dts node for ricoh619
<AstralixNB> pmic:act8846
<AstralixNB> Can't find dts node for fuel guage cw201x
<AstralixNB> Is probably not for this board
<AstralixNB> So the board revision (even not printed on the PCB) must be a v0930
<rperier> ohh yeah, indeed it might explain your issues
<rperier> (I am talking about the bootloader bug)
RayFlower has joined #linux-rockchip
<AstralixNB> But it is complicated to write in their forum as the editor is doing funny things with the line spacing and such, but the symbols are labeled with chinese explanations...
<AstralixNB> mmind00, the patch you posted is for the kernel? Are you aware of any uboot that takes care of correct MMU handling?
<mmind00> yep ... Rockchip fixed that in may or so after I reported the issue ... github/rkchrome/uboot is doing the right thing for example

<AstralixNB> I check that out and try to bake it

<AstralixNB> no problem. I clone the firefly repo and check what's inside. For the MMU thing, ask mmind00 for some hints, I catch up after the pizza that just arrived :)

<AstralixNB> ok, the original uboot doesn't compile with linaro 4.9.x hf...
<rperier> how it is possible to deliver to non-working software like this one... seriously... (for a company, the context is different when this is a FLOSS project driven by a community)
<rperier> I mean, as you said only the stock uboot shipped with your device worked... it sucks seriously

<AstralixNB> Ok, tried to follow the wiki to get the latest uboot and latest kernel going...
<AstralixNB> I downloaded firefly sdk, compiled uboot with non-hf linaro 4.9:
<AstralixNB> Boots to uboot OK
<AstralixNB> Kernel fails at DRM init: NOK
<AstralixNB> I recompiled the kernel from the SDK
<AstralixNB> kernel files at DRAM init: NOK
<AstralixNB> ups... fails
<AstralixNB> Unfortunately adding the MMU init lines in head.S does NOT solve the problem

<field^Mop> I had all of my 4 pl2303 fail. connected a raspi and it worked.
<field^Mop> got a silabs and ftdi converter now, yet to check.
<mmind00> BorgCuba: at least on the radxarock AP0_VCC and AP1_VCC are supplied by the vcc_io supply@3.3v

<field^Mop> kenguru: what do you mean by wideband?
<field^Mop> ok, afk again.. sorry
<BorgCuba> field^Mop, thanks for the info
<BorgCuba> the weired thing is that it worked for quite some time
<BorgCuba> i tested with ft232 and pl2303
<kenguru> no, but same usb-com adapter, didn't read the whole article is the drivers only faulty or the device unreliable itself. I Opened again that page and well it seems they are just discussing about the ubuntu support for it.
<BorgCuba> maybe I try a level shifter
