<wzyy2> \o/ Standard v4l2 isp/mipi csi driver for rk3288/rk3399 will be done soon.
<wzyy2> It could use the sensor driver under driver/media/i2c directly.

<Myy> Yay !
<Myy> I've synced the vcodec code and updated it so it can compile on 4.13 kernels (they removed DMA_ERROR_CODE in 4.13 kernels). I'll begin the tests tomorrow, though I don't know if I can test the VPU code through wayland or DRM/KMS.

<mb_> have a question about the RK3399 SATA controller
Myy has quit [Quit: Leaving]
<mb_> I want to enable software RAID under Ubuntu with my RK3399 SATA controller. Do I need to reconfigure/recompile the kernel in order to enable software raid?

<mb_> anybody?
<beeble> mb_: rk3399 does not have sata?
<mb_> yes it does, but the default Ubuntu kernel does not support software RAID, so it seems

<beeble> ok, so it seems the firefly has some usb to sata converter on the board and some ubuntu image. so probably you have one of these?
<beeble> if they don't have any modules in the image that you can load, then you have to recompile your kernel
wzyy has joined #linux-rockchip
<phh> ?!? the firefly has no sata?!?
<wzyy> Myy: You might need those patches if you want to show video via DRM.
<wzyy> in 4.12
<wzyy> I think rk3288-reload have sata, not sure rk3399.
<wzyy> maybe pcie to sata?
<beeble> ah, the grafic is misleading. they show sata next to the m2 interface
<mb_> Yes, I’ve bought the PCIe M.2(B-KEY) to SATA3.0 Adapter Board. The adapter is properly detected, so are my 2 2.5” SATA HDD.
<phh> wzyy: I'm sad I didn't find that earlier :( I bought one from amazon, but it doesn't have the power supply/cable
<mb_> But I don’t think software RAID is supported by the default Ubuntu kernel
<mb_> So I am asking the experts in here if I need to recompile the kernel in order to enable software RAID. Any thoughts?
<beeble> if it has modules you can look if you have a raid[4,5,6].ko
<beeble> if not then you will have to recompile it
<mb_> ok, thanks
<mb_> I don’t think the Firefly-RK3399 stock Ubuntu kernel has any module (.ko). Looks to me everything is embedded/compiled in the image… Am I wrong?
cnxsoft has joined #linux-rockchip
<beeble> if there is nothing in /lib/modules then yes
<mb_> Which is the case… Thanks all for your help!
