<paulk-leonov> hi
<paulk-leonov> it looks like we're having issues using vpu encode + vpu decode + VIP (camera in) + RGA at the same time (at about 30 fps for PAL dimensions)
<paulk-leonov> does that ring a bell to anyone ?

<mmind00> paulk-leonov: at least no bell here ... but I guess what are the issues that you see?
<paulk-leonov> mmind00: it's a FIFO overflow on the VIP side

<robmur01> I'd guess at interconnect QoS (and maybe interconnect/memory clocks in general)
<robmur01> on RK3328 in its default state you can glitch the display simply by doing something memory-intensive on the CPUs :)
matthias_bgg has joined #linux-rockchip
<paulk-leonov> ah ok so that does happen :)
<robmur01> No idea what the default priorities are or how you change them though - AFAIK Rockchip don't use our interconnects (other than the CCI in RK3399) so I can't even point at vague suggestions :(
<mmind00> there are the quality-of-service syscons in the dts ... though right now we're only saving and restoring them on power-domain changes
<robmur01> yeah, it's just a question of whether the TRM tells you enough about how to actually program them
shailangsa has joined #linux-rockchip
<robmur01> (also, why oh why oh why does the EL3 firmware that's supposed to be responsible for all power state stuff not handle that save/restore? Grrr...)

<dlezcano-> mmind00, mani_s, the rock960 does no longer boot correctly, (stuck but no hang) since v5.10-rc2 (-rc1 does not compile), is the issue known ?
vicencb has quit [Quit: Leaving.]
<mmind00> dlezcano-: not that I know of ... at which point is it stuck?
<mmind00> dlezcano-: i.e. any kernel output?
<robmur01> apparently something broke RK808 probing briefly, that could possibly be involved
<robmur01> should be fixed in -rc3 though
<dlezcano-> robmur01, mmind00 : https://pastebin.com/Ben45bab
<mmind00> dlezcano-: "Waiting for root device /dev/mmcblk1p2..." ... I'd say ... there is a mmc change that pretty much causes all mmc hosts to reorder
<dlezcano-> mmind00, mmh :/
<mmind00> dlezcano-: so your mmcblk1 is most likely a mmcblk0 or something now
<dlezcano-> mmind00, https://pastebin.com/z4vMMPqU
<dlezcano-> mmind00, there is this line : [ 2.903697] dwmmc_rockchip fe320000.mmc: All phases bad!
<mmind00> dlezcano-: but also your mmcblk1 really became a mmcblk2 it seems ... would be interesting if the "all phases bad" message is actually new
<dlezcano-> mmind00, yeah, I will check on v5.9
<robmur01> mmind00: looks like it's trying to tune SDR104, then later falls back to 50MHz high speed mode
<robmur01> which could be related to the RK808-provided regulator being missing
<dlezcano-> robmur01, mmind00 : Reverting the commit 21b2cec61c04bd175f
<dlezcano-> robmur01, mmind00 fixes the issue but I don't know why
<mmind00> dlezcano-: both the numbering _AND_ the phases?
<dlezcano-> mmind00, checking ...
<robmur01> (i.e. it switches the dummy regulator to 1.8V but the I/O stays at 3.3V, and then can no longer "hear" the card)
<robmur01> dlezcano-: where's your root *supposed* to be - eMMC or SD?
<dlezcano-> robmur01, SD
<robmur01> OK, so your eMMC has come up on mmc0, your SD on mmc2, and you're waiting for a partition to appear from the wifi module ;)
<dlezcano-> mmind00, it fixes the numbering
<dlezcano-> robmur01, oops :)
<robmur01> so yeah, numbering is the primary problem
<mmind00> dlezcano-: just to mention, https://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/mmind/linux-rockchip.git/commit/?h=v5.10-armsoc/dtsfixes&id=0011c6d182774fc781fb9e115ebe8baa356029ae is planned as fix for 5.10
<dlezcano-> mmind00, the phases error is still appearing but without the errors following
<dlezcano-> mmind00, checking on v5.9 now
<mmind00> dlezcano-: as robmur01 said, is falls back to highspeed mode when the phases fail
<robmur01> if it's a UHS card and you'd expect it to work in SDR104 mode, I'd also check if you have aea6cb99703e but not cf1ad559a20d1
<robmur01> (if you're on -rc3 already that should no longer be a problem)
<dlezcano-> robmur01, I'm on -rc3
<robmur01> OK, in that case the RK808 *should* be probing correctly and we can probably forget about that one, phew
<dlezcano-> mmind00, on v5.9 the all phases error does not appear neither the following errors
<dlezcano-> mmind00, with the fix you mentioned I can boot now
<dlezcano-> mmind00, I suggest to add a Fixes tag to the patch
<dlezcano-> mmind00, so probably worth to use the UUID rather than the partition number
