MoeIcenowy: it should be pretty simple, but I hadn't got my hand on a board with AC on an AXP813, so not able to test but AFAIR, it should a 1 or 2-hour job at most

<mfa298>
I was looking at the commit in 4.17 for 'ARM: dts: nanopi-neo-air: Add WiFi / eMMC' (88c23c05ef18f543fad7b26c95a3acc0ffb378cc) which adds mmc1 into the dts, however looking at the older atempt at adding that (https://patchwork.kernel.org/patch/9642071/) it added mmc1 and mmc2
<mfa298>
should the recent addition have also included mmc2 ?
<mfa298>
I just started playing with a neo-air I'd bought a while back and it now sees the wifi but not the onboard emmc with the mainline kernel but I'm not sure if that's a driver or dts issue
<wens>
it was dropped after someone picked up the work and sent the last version that was merged
<mfa298>
would I be correct in thinking that the mmc2 block (in the earlier attempt) was probably for the eMMC ?

yes

<mfa298>
any ideas what a dts block for the eMMC should look like (I did just try a build with something based on that older commit) and it seemed to see there's something there but not recognising what it is

<mfa298>
I might have just answered that myself. I didn't include the pinctrl lines first time as they had been removed from the other mmc blocks. putting that block in as it was in the older patch seems to work.
<mfa298>
so it seems the commit message for that mainline isn't quite accurate as it only added WiFi support and not eMMC

good afternoon everyone!
<blu-boards>
I am working with an engineering group to use the Allwinner H3 and H5 SoC's, but they are having a hard time receiving any communication. Does anyone know of a better route than the contact form on the allwinner site?

sending request order for 10.000.000 chips might help

blu-boards: depending on your volume your only solution is to find a allwinner distribution partner in china (most likely shenzhen area) and do all communication through them
<beeble>
s/a/the :)
<blu-boards>
beeble: thanks for the tip! Is there a list of them somewhere? I can't find anything on their website for distributors using allwinnertech.com
<blu-boards>
or is it listed as something other than distributors?
<beeble>
they aren't listed
<beeble>
usually they are odms doing also distribution
<blu-boards>
ok, I can see an ODM listing
<blu-boards>
I will let the engineering group know! thanks :)
<beeble>
don't expect too much :)
<blu-boards>
as in communication?
phdeswer has joined #linux-sunxi
<beeble>
in information you can get
<blu-boards>
why do you say that?
<beeble>
experience as in "been there, done that"
<blu-boards>
oh. I thought they were an "open" hardware company.
<KotCzarny>
open but lazy
<blu-boards>
I see
<beeble>
depends on the definition of open
<dgp>
does open mean the leaks of their "sdks"?
<blu-boards>
anything I should avoid or directly do to make this experience any better? lol
<KotCzarny>
mentioning you only do 10.000 chips at most
<blu-boards>
is there one partner that is better than another?
<blu-boards>
lol
<montjoie>
wens: any idea for my R40 not having MMC https://pastebin.com/Bg0X4hpm ? I see that dwmac is deferred then probed but mmc is deferred and never reprobed
