hi, i have problems with high CPU usage under X when moving mouse. I have fully accelerated A20 board with Mali400MP2 (lima works, AIGLX also). startx works with plain xorg stuff and with enlightenment(e24).
<s3b0>
but when i moving mouse regardless of deskop cpu usage jumps to 30%-40% on both cores
<s3b0>
board is lamobo r1
<s3b0>
so this soc has 2 cores
<s3b0>
966Mhx each
<s3b0>
i talked with guys from e and they think i might be drm subsys(sun4i-drm)

<s3b0>
so i need your help/guidance
<wens>
IIRC that's because of how X does cursor updates
<plaes>
and something about missing cursor plane...
<wens>
if you have cursor plane it gets worse lol
<wens>
because it still blasts out updates, but now each update waits for vblank
<plaes>
ouch :D
<s3b0>
so is there any way to fix it?

it's too bad we don't have docs to check them against

nor the device(s)
<mru>
wens: if you had docs, you'd just be left wondering which was more wrong

mru: true lol

bah contacted tanix because their tx6s images downloads are broken but no response :V was hoping to get some firmware of *something* that contains AW H616 to check the dtb
<Ashleee>
boo yeah, first u-boot and first kernel attempt and it booted debian installer on tanix tx6 perfectly :P
<Ashleee>
now if only the shop hadn't forgotten to load my order and shipped the rack and switch so I could actually install debian on it..

KotCzarny, because A35?
<willmore>
Or A32

better than 40nm, I guess.

gah which driver am I missing, I have got all the ac200/ac200ephy + relevant i2c driver set up, ac200-ephy logs "DMA mask not set" which is only warning (lol) but the dwmac_sun8i still times out resetting
<jernej>
Ashleee: problem with AC200 EPHY driver is that load order is important due to unsolved dependency issue
<Ashleee>
hmm you're on point there, ac200 logs that warning after the dwmac tries to reset
<Ashleee>
how do I solve the order? :V
<Ashleee>
I'm running all as compiled in rather than modules as I am trying to use the stock debian netinst and do not want to modify initrd
<jernej>
I suggest that you build in all drivers required for ac200 and emac, except sun8i-emac
<Ashleee>
and the dwmac_sun8i as module? :)
<jernej>
yes
<Ashleee>
thanks, lemme try that hack up somehow
<Ashleee>
actually your (nick)name sounds familiar, are you the one who wrote the ac200 patches? :P
<jernej>
exactly :)
<Ashleee>
:D
<Ashleee>
jernej, wow thanks it worked :)) only noticed that the ethernet LEDs on Tanix TX6 don't work
<Ashleee>
now before I rm -rf the android stuff from the emmc I should make a backup... or even better yet debug on sd card set up kernel :D
lurchi__ is now known as lurchi_
<Ashleee>
aw no hw spi in dtb :) I wonder if there is a working driver... or to whatever is the front 7seg display connected to :D
<jernej>
that's something special
<jernej>
there is no driver for it in kernel
<Ashleee>
I thought it was some LED driver connected via SPI
<Ashleee>
but then again I didn't look just yet
<Ashleee>
or did you mean the ethernet LEDs? :D
<jernej>
nope, 7 segment display
<fALSO>
awesome
<Ashleee>
ah ok :)
<jernej>
where do you see any leds on ethernet connector?
<Ashleee>
am I just blind? I thought there were two next to the locking notch
<Ashleee>
I may be blind
<fALSO>
they are problably connected to the "wires" of the thernet cable
<fALSO>
dont know :-P
<Ashleee>
I'll check when debian finishes installing
<jernej>
to be honest, I don't see any leds on board aside of 7 segment display
<jernej>
not even power led
reinforce has joined #linux-sunxi
<Ashleee>
there is at the front some two LEDs and one another header for something :) but who knows
<Ashleee>
either way the LED driver fd650 is odd
<Ashleee>
datasheet says nothing reasonable
lurchi_ is now known as lurchi__

if only Tanix released BSP, maybe they would have included it in their u-boot source.. :V
