<PPA> Composite video for H3 is not available on mainline, right?

<PPA> Yeah, I was hoping there may be some unlisted project somewhere
<Ixnus> suspected to be similar to previous SoCs and easy to add . Why you use it for ?
<PPA> Mostly just for the sake of it. I still have an old SD LCD TV in my room and thought it'd be neat to be able to hook a mainline H3 thing up to it
<Ixnus> I wonder why this still exist. try open topic in armbian, check the datasheet how similar is to A20, good luck.

<PPA> Thanks
<DonkeyHotei> PPA: there is also H3Droid, which works
<PPA> Stuff based on older kernels (like RetrOrange Pi 4.2, which includes an Armbian desktop and other stuff) also still supports composite
<PPA> Really more idle curiosity than anything
<MoeIcenowy> PPA: I have some composite code on mainline
<MoeIcenowy> but I did not submit it because it lacks jack insertion detection

<karlp> I'm still having problems with this ov5640 module on an orangepi pc+, I've got some matching dts pieces from wens's commits and others, and all the voltages are available, but the ov5640 probe still fails to do the i2c read. I _suspect_ the ccu mclk output isn't working, or atleast, isn't enabled,
<karlp> I see a line for it, csi-mclk in /sys/kernel/debug/clk/clk_summary at 24Mhz as desired, but it has 0's for enable/prepare/protect counts.
<karlp> I can'
<karlp> t see it with i2c detect or anything either, but as it's using 16bit regs, that might not be a problem
concept10 has joined #linux-sunxi
<karlp> this is the full dts, https://paste.centos.org/view/41d3e171 at the moment.
<karlp> given taht the ov5640 won't read it, I think it's still very fundamental i2c/clock/power issues, not csi level
<karlp> ie, I'm still well before having a /dev/mediaX

<karlp> the reset and standby gpios for the camera are listed as "MUX UNCLAIMED" inn /sys/kernel/debug/pinctrl/1c20800.pinctrl/pinmux-pins but I guess that could also still because i2c isn't getting anywhere?

<mirko> if i'm having HDMI issues (the once discussed here couple days/weeks(?) ago) - what's more likely: they getting fixed in the megous repo or available as patch as part of libreelec? almost with every rebase onto the latest megous branch/HEAD and pulling libreelec i notice changes in either repos, some even addressing the same thing with different code
<mirko> is there some rule of thumb, like, megous being more upstream compatible (and potentially therewith not including the latest and potentially hack'ish fixes/improvements) and libreelec trying to address whatever affects the kodi-experience by any means necessary? at least that's a bit how it feels to me
[StrangeCrap] has quit [Quit: It worked man... I swear... this crap am running :/]
<jernej> mirko: Long term plan is always to upstream fixes from LE (speaking about Allwinner port) but not necessarily in the same form.
<jernej> also LE won't include fixes not needed for good Kodi experience
<mirko> jernej: i see thanks - yes, i was only referring to sunxi of course
