<mru> fast, secure, non-fictional; pick any two
<KotCzarny> what about cheap?
<mru> then you can't have fast or secure
<willmore> KotCzarny, maybe vulnerable.

<tuxd3v> hello, does any one has a good shape dts file for OrangePI One Plus( H6 )
<tuxd3v> I would like to test DVFS on it :)

<montjoie> tuxd3v: good shape ?
<tuxd3v> montjoie, I mean more complete
<tuxd3v> right now the mainline dts only has ethernet support :(
<tuxd3v> it his missing a lot of stuff
<tuxd3v> I checked megous repo, but it also only has ethernet support only :S

<Ashleee> wait I thought that mainline within kernel 5.8 has dvfs in it already?
<Ashleee> oh, they do have it for some boards, not for H6 itself :)
hexdump0815 has joined #linux-sunxi
<hexdump0815> tuxd3v: it includes the orangepi dtsi which includes the h6 dtsi and all that together should have all hardware in ... in case that is not enough, have a look at the armbian patches as they have the opi one plus quite well supported i think

<tuxd3v> hexdump0815, it includes the Orangepi dtsi, but orangepi dtsi doesn't include the opp tables, and maybe the trip points..
<tuxd3v> OrangePi 3 doesn't even includes the orangepi dtsi ?? it has a grownup description right there of the hardware, and the includes the opp table dtsi bellow
<tuxd3v> it makes me wonder why they made the orangepi dtsi, if they are not using it in some boards..
afaerber has quit [Remote host closed the connection]
<tuxd3v> mabe the hardware is incompatible, and some boards need diferent descriptions.. maybe

lurchi__ is now known as lurchi_
<tuxd3v> Ashleee, yeah, it should have been present for H6 :)
<jernej> tuxd3v: orangepi dtsi is used for OrangePi One Plus and Lite2, OrangePi 3 is sufficently different that it doesn't use it and instead defines everything in dts
<tuxd3v> jernej, many thanks for your insight into it :)
<jernej> hexdump0815: regarding DRAM issue, can you try same fix as Ashleee - set ranks to 1 in DRAM driver
<tuxd3v> I am including the opp tables dtsi into orangepi dtsi, but maybe something is still missing to have DVFS on orangepi one plus?
<jernej> no, as far as I know, reason why dvfs is not enabled is that nobody tested it yet on that board
<jernej> you don't want to enable something that may make board unstable without testing
<jernej> tux3v: another thing missing is cpu power supply, check opi3 dts, node cpu0 for example
<Ashleee> oh yeah, hello hexd
<Ashleee> oh they're gone already :(

<tuxd3v> jernej, many thanks, I believe cpu power is the same as in orangepi3, I used for node 0 the same as for orangepi3
<tuxd3v> I am now booting and ideed cpufreq seems to be working but I don't now how is scales, and so on, just reading output of 'cpufreq-info'
<tuxd3v> the opptable is limited to 1.5Ghz, maybe if I found possible I will increase to 1.8Ghz later
<tuxd3v> many thanks for your valuable help on this :)

<tuxd3v> actually I am receiving in dmesg, a lots and lots of 'vdd-cpu: ramp_delay not set'
<tuxd3v> orangepi dtsi is missing a property for 'reg_dcdca: dcdca' section
<tuxd3v> regulator-ramp-delay = <2500>;
<tuxd3v> 'reg_dcdcc: dcdcc' section also..
